To be honest, if it wasn't for Steves post above I would likely have offered another OPINION....

But out of respect for his post I will refrain from doing so, but ask that Steven take a look at this thread and the tone of posts....and keep a small eye on it so it does NOT get out of hand.

Yeah i just figure let it rest. If you read our dialogues over the last week it may help you see where he is coming from. I made a couple of jokes in the edit section - where you correct errors.

The last scam I've seen is the removal from the home page of the Resources, Directory or Partners link.

This is negative in two ways.
    1) No more traffic from the linking partner.
    2) With time all the Links section pages becomes "uncached" by the SE, and the scamer is taking a one way link.

Very difficult to trace, because for the software my link is always in the original page.

Well you don't necessarily have to link to your partner pages from the home page, but you must link to it somewhere on your site.

I agree though, if all links to the partner pages are removed, then they are doing a dis-service to you.

I prefer linking content pages and am will to discuss link arrangements with anyone interested.

I also find some who made my link "no follow" and I'm quite really disappointed for their crafty action. I bet they have fooled most of their link exchange partners like that. To be fair with me I also put them as no follow.

    Honestly,

Changing links to no-follow, or removing all links to the link pages are really underhanded nasty things to do.

I for one would like to compile a list of webmasters who have a habit of doing such things.....

Anyone that would like to send me such info, please do so, I will keep the source of said reports private.

Rick, I have an affiliate company even tried this..

I will gather my list of shady companies in exchange as well.
