Offline marketing for online casinos

Hello people.

Nice to see such an active community here. After browsing the forums, I decided to join too.

My first question for you is how can you promote online casinos in the "real" world? Offline, that is. Did any of you manage to do that succesfully? And what should I promote, sign-up bonuses, one of those "winning" strategies for roulette, big winners maybe?

My first choice would be flyers and ads in newspapers. What else?

Target country for this offline marketing is Romania.

I suggest you do not pick of the phone and call your local newspaper expecting to advertise online gambling....

@universal4 Why not? They won't let you do this in the USA? ...kidding, I wasn't going to ask them to print an ad about online gambling. However, who can blame me if I offer an ebook with a poker strategy to their readers? Well, not titled like that, but more like "money-making" or "money guide".


@casinojack Post cards? I already have a connection who's able to spread about 10,000 flyers / day in mail boxes, I think this would work.

So, what should I promote? I am thinking about buying and redirecting a domain, and advertise that domain.

Their are many way's in which to promote casino's offline and I would also suggest looking into a auto play or download "CD" with a special bonus etc.

Flyer's
Postcards
Newspaper

also you can look into you local cinema to flash up a ad while people are waiting for the movie to start.

I would also suggest the "TV" but this I feel would be out of most peoples budget.

You could even try your local radio station, many ways to promote offline.

Offline promotions considered as very effective although big money involves.

If you have enough money to waste for a quick effective promotion, go for TV advertisement and billboards.

@ironman2000 Yes, tv ads are out of my budget. For now. Maybe I'll look into some local stations to see their rates. But everything else you mentioned is what I'm thinking about, too. Yes, I have read about handing out cds with installs, and I gotta find and target specific groups for this, as opposed to flyers and postcards that are meant for the... general public. Thanks for the cinema tip!


@bbonline Yeah... not in that kind of money yet. I believe a national tv ad will indeed bring lots of players, if targeted correctly. As I already mentioned, I might be able to place an ad in a local tv station. I was thinking about billboards too.

Also, try to open up you own websites. Go for geotargeting, people are just comfortable inquiring online coz, anything goes in the world of internet and you might get more exposure.

I once sponsored a bunch of people on a trip to Biloxi - they were all wearing my Got2Bet T-shirts... was kinda fun but we weren't sitting in the high limit area LOL. Anyhow, it did raise income somewhat but no where near the whale range...

I do agree with arisoftnet about usb sticks.... We have done in the past bonus cards - cd's - leaflets all embedded with the affiliates code.

Ofcourse you could always re-direct the traffic to your url to be sure it lands on your page with your tracker so not to loose your valuable player.

Cd's dont work very well i have to say. As it is looking cheap in the eye and potential players cant use it for something else.

I actually tried doing some classifieds in different retirement areas in some of the local newspapers, but did not see real results a few sign ups but no real players.

If advertisement is to be done quite difficultly offline for casinos in European states, casino club has done this probably sometimes

Allright, thank you all for this discussion! I got some good ideas from here. Honestly I did not expect GPWA to be such a good source of information... I was expecting for you all to be very secretive and protective with your casino affiliate business


My next question would be about your best affiliate program. I'm thinking I might give Europartners a shot, even after reading the thread that speaks not so good about them. They have a couple of casinos with Romanian listed as supported language, and I think that would be appealing to my future players.
What affiliate programs do you use and/or consider to be reliable and with good player retention?
