    Default Old articles

    Hi
I am wondering about one topic. I just found some articles on my drive from my old site which I no longer do. The site was in the Google index. I abandoned it for another project and about six months ago deleted it from hosting and the domain just expired.
That was 5-6 months ago and that site is no longer in the google index as far as I can see, however I don't know since when it has been gone.

And here is my question. Can uploading this content, without redirecting from the previous site to my current site hurt it in any way in terms of SEO and G?

It seems to me that no, there is no page in the index is no problem, however, I prefer to make sure, maybe google has some memory .

I would think the articles would be ok to put on a site.
Verify the site is not in the search index site:domain.com
Try doing some searches for the content in google.

If others have taken the content or portions of it and you now publish it, the other sites pages would have older time stamps and make it appear you copied it, so I would at least take portions of the articles and make sure no one else lifted it.

There are plagiarism checkers where you could paste in the whole of any page text and it will go off and check. It's a good idea from Rick to check that no one else found your old content and used it. As long as that's not the case, you could expect minimal (probably zero) problems from reusing it even if some of the old pages are still indexed somewhere.

Hi, you can check your content through Copyscape to find if it is plagiarized. However, check the content's facts as things change from time to time.

Verify that the site is no longer indexed and has not been published or referred to on other websites. If there aren't many articles, I'd rewrite them to ensure they're current and add any additional information that might increase their value.

I've done this in the past and never had any issues.

Aside from other sites that may have scraped it, it's also important to make sure the old content is truly gone in googles eyes from the old site. I moved something once where I wanted it off the old site but didn't want a redirect between the two and thought I'd given myself enough time (returned 410 on the old page, waited for it to drop out of the index etc..) and it wouldn't index on the new site for months.

Just copy some parts of the texts with "" in google and check if it still finds it anywhere, e.g. "your paragraph". If not basically it is out of cache and index. This way you can also see if someone copied it and uses it for their own purposes. Good luck!

When I was a young SEO in 2013, I had a whole article directory copied on my PC. Then, it got closed and all of it's 1000+ articles were deindexed. That was 1000+ more articles for me to republish. You can imagine I didn't write any content in the next few months. Good times.

Does it have any impressions in SearchConsole? If not its just dead weight and you should remove and redirect, alternativly you can see if there is any way of reusing the content somewhere else.
