About LinkBacksIn the good news/bad news department, a dog fighting ring that allowed people to watch and place bets on fights online, has been broken up in the Philippines. Sadly, about 20 of the dogs were in such bad shape they needed to be euthenized.
Some of the men arrested were arrested for the same offense just a few months earlier but were free on bail.

Buzzy wishes that businesses like this wouldn't be able to find anyone to bet on the matches, thereby removing any financial incentive to run such a cruel and terrible operation.

Their police claims that 300(!) badly injured dogs were rescued by them.

Sad story, I am glad they were stopped. Unfortunately Buzzy is correct, as long as people want to bet on it, someone will supply it.

Sick bastards should not be allow to post bail. Let them rot and consider their actions while they wait for a court date.She called on the government to overhaul its animal rights law that allows suspects to post bail of about $100 and go free while their cases moved through the country’s notoriously slow court system.--
