AM's listen to affiliates all the time - all day every day! Whether changes are made will depend on the company and their structure.
I've worked at places where the affiliate department was viewed as a strange little satellite on the edge of the company - Other places place huge importance on the Affiliate Team. At Betfred we have been able to move it to the very centre and make it a part of almost every other department which is where I think it should be.
For significant changes it will always depend on who is asking - it needs a few very big affiliates or an awful lot of regular ones. It also needs both sides to understand the rationale for imposing the rule in the first place and the consequences for removing it.
For example, mansion had an online cashier for affiliate withdrawals, just like a players cashier. They needed the '5 Player Rule' to be in place to ensure it was only genuine affiliates they were paying and not scammers at 3am on a saturday morning faking accounts and getting a withdrawal. Affiliates got the flexibility and convenience of quick payouts but they had to send 5 players before their first time payment could be made.
For Paddy's this is a different matter so you'd have to ask them their business rationale for that rule and see what they defend it with but in general, if enough affiliates came to us all suggesting the same change and it had sound reasoning behind it we'd have to consider it.
You think that the reason Paddy's have the rule is to keep more money for themselves but you would really have to ask them about it.
