    Default Panda:It's Coming!

For those of you wondering whether Google is going to launch the dreaded Panda, suffice it to say it's coming. Gary Illyes said that Google is going to launch a Panda refresh within the next couple of weeks.

You can read more about it here: http://searchengineland.com/google-p...g-weeks-222243

Makes sense, I expect some updates have been in the queue to follow once the mobile changes had bedded in.

I disavowed a ton of spammy backlinks on some sites the other day, would google take this in to consideration by the next refresh do you think?

Great hopefully it cleans up the mess they made in May... with 50 word spammy sites dominating top spots.. or 3-4 domains with almost the same pages ranking on the same keyword positions..

You'd need a Penguin update for that to be considered, although I'm sure that Penguin is more fluid now and is updated as part of an ongoing process.

I'm looking forward to it. They couldn't screw up the index any more than it is now with so many rubbish pages dominating the serps.

A continual penguin update is good news... it's the worst of the two... Daily penguin updates should keep those useless sites that 301 old links to weak thin spam sites to gain rankings for 3 months "usually world cup super bowl time etc" then burn them until the next one..

I did a 301 from one of my .co.uk sites to combine the content with my .com site... Funny thing is I burned the .co.uk site because it wouldn't rank for UK terms... But after doing the 301, all the pages rank pretty well for UK terms on my .com site...

But with all the spam going on, I hope G doesn't consider.. Its a 301, must be a spam site.... A little concerning since the content didn't rank before.. Given when I moved the content over, I did do a pretty good cleaning up and refreshing of the articles. Will be interesting to see.

Google algo is broken. Hacked pages outrank established sites and Google does nothing about improving the search engine.

I dont think this is going to change a lot tbh. There is always going to be people abusing the algos and coming up with creative ideas to dominate the SERPs, no matter what the update is/might be.

On one hand you have to admire their desire to screw up the results and the continuous advances in their techniques yet on the other you fear for the user and the legit affs.

Oh well, c'est la vie as the French say :P

What you see "creative", I see it "criminal activity" (if you refer to the hacked websites).

If and when someone will knock to the doors of those crooks at 5.00 AM (Interpol, FBI, Police...) ... I will say... "It's creative, c'est la vie"

Those are guys have have cracked the G algo - even if just for a little while. I would call them very talented, not criminals. And no way on earth is there anyone going to be knocking on their door. Ever

    Talented?
    Ok... let me see...

What we are seeing on G these days is a "new version" of the old, very old "pharma hack". Just applied to online casinos... but it's the same.
Injecting some malicious code in a Wordpress/Magento/Joomla/Drupal system is a kind of things that you can do yourself... if you are a criminal.
You need just to do some basic searches... and, of course, you need a "level 2" coding skill

Those guys have cracked nothing... it's the G algo that's broken. Where is the "infamous" duplicate content tweak? I see 50+ results above me... every page is a copy of the each other. Same exact copy...

So, the fault is from G side. I don't see talented "hackers"...

No one on heart can knocks on their doors?

    Uhm...

    http://www.nbcnews.com/id/18955115/n...-held-seattle/

    and it was 2007... and...

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...-accounts.html

    ...and...

    https://www.sophos.com/en-us/press-o...apan-spam.aspx

An italian guy could tell: "Tanto va la gatta al lardo che ci lascia lo zampino"

Since this "lamers" hack is becoming very, very popular and thousands of webmasters (all around the world and all around other industries) are complaining about it... I'm coming to "sniff" something in the air...

P.s.: lamers, not hackers. Hackers are the talented guys... they are just stealing private spaces to make money online (and it's a fraud...)

But they ARE criminals by the truest sense of the word.

They hack OTHER PEOPLE'S websites, and place their own code on the sites, that cloak and show google large amounts of keywords that have avsolutely ZERO to do with gambling.

Recent examples of hacked websites have included doctors, Pediatricians, and even governement websites as well as public utilities.

If you truly think it is ok for anyone to hack websites they do NOT own, and place code on those sites without the site owners permission, well you just don't understand what is taking place in these situations.

I admit they may be talented when it come to hacking and server penetration, but they are still criminals.

Let me ask you, of someone manages to hack YOUR website, and replace all your affiliate links with their own, would call them just a bunch of talented guys?

I think it has just landed... I noticed that my results showing in the Serps were boosted by over 10,000... Today Traffic has been off the scale and it's still early.. I'm hoping its not a spike before the penalty lol.. But I have made every effort to keep the site as clean as possible.. the other day I got rid of 100 pages I was not happy with and 301'ed them to similar.. anybody else seeing change?
