PHP Help

I know this is probably pretty simple but I really know nothing about PHP yet so I really don't even want to mess with it.

I am getting this error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/content/45/6130945/html/wp-content/themes/roundedpoker[1]/roundedpoker/comments.php on line 1" with this Wordpress theme I'm trying to use.

If anyone could tell me what I need to do to fix it I'd really appreciate it, heres the code for that page.

Nevermind on this. I'm not sure what was wrong with this but I just re-uploaded the theme files and it's fixed "and I never even edited the files".

Do all your php pages look this way? It looks like a single line instead of multiple. As a result it consider big deal of the code commented I suppose.

Try to upload "comments.php" file again via FTP.

Because you reuploaded and it worked fine then, it could have just been that your ftp program only uploaded a fraction of the packets rather than the whole file making it corrupt...

I can't think of anything else that would affect it like that and be fixed by a simple reupload.

Thanks for all the suggestions and everything guys, I only know HTML and a bit of CSS so PHP is a whole different thing for me. I just bought a couple of Wordpress hosting accounts at Godaddy to mess with and it's seeming like more trouble than it's worth. I think I might switch over to Joomla or Drupal, Wordpress is seeming like a big run around to use templates and get away from the whole blogging thing while doing it "atleast with a template".

Anyaway, I'll definitely have alot more questions for you guys on this so look out for some more posts but I just got back from an Angels game "and alot of beers" so it's time for bed. If anyone has some suggestions on a different CMS to use through Godaddy than Wordpress let me know too because I've already spent to many hours messing with Wordpress than it's worth "so far anyway" and I know damn well I spend way to much time hand coding each page of my other sites.

You still have to use templates with Joomla and Drupal, and the templates are more complex to write too. I use both Joomla and Wordpress (for general sites and blogs respectively) and just use free templates (i.e. with linkbacks in the footer).

Wordpress is easier to use than Joomla, with a less steep learning curve.

I know that you have to use templates at Joomla and Drupal but I thought it might be easier to get away from the blog feel with them. I guess I should try and tackle Wordpress before moving on to one of the other two.

Ah OK, sorry I understand now - and yes. My site (should be in sig) is a fairly simple site made with Joomla. It is much more flexible 'out of the box' (i.e. without using 3rd party plugins and complex templates) in terms of layout. It isn't blogging sofware at all but a true CMS so if you don't want your site to look and feel like a blog then it would probably be better.

Before I started my site I did a bit of research online (after which I decided to use Joomla) then installed XAMPP on my desktop and got a beginners book on Joomla (second hand from eBay) and fiddled around with it until I got used to it, so if you wanted to give it a try you could do that.

I also installed Wordpress on XAMPP and fiddled with that too. Both installations are still there and sometimes if I want to try something new and am not sure about the consequences I do it there first, before trying it out 'live' on the internet.

Wow thank you, that does look awesome. I will download the trial sometime this summer (don't need any templates just yet) and if it works as well as it looks like it does I will probably get the full version this FY,

No probs

The only prob with the trial is that when you save it it has a watermark all over it... so you can't use it.. but test it out.. It really is worth the money.
