    But have a question, you deliver a lot of helpful content like free pics etc. maybe i´m wrong but you dont ask your pleased users for name or email?
    I mean email marketing/list building (for example with popup boxes on the exit) is still a strong weapon in a marketing mix.

    Mobile users dont see any popup or banner...its only for desktop visitors...

    On the sports site most people spend little time there.. they usually come for our picks then go.. pop ups annoy me and i usually click back, I want to keep them happy so i don't force anything in front of them, I have tried before but the account was banned from the mailer due to gambling related content "USA Traffic". We have a high return rate and pop ups affect that number.

    I found most success by keeping the site free of junk or anything that can disrupt, I have tried action bars too which are less intrusive but still annoying.

    The thing is do i really want to throw a popup onto a guy thats just landed on a page for sign ups? hes ready to go just needs that little bit more info.. I don't want to distract that process,

    I see ... and its complete right. but good tools trigger the action just if he leave (by closing the browser tab for example). In case he click a link, banner or button, he can follow his plans to signup with the bookie. Or you showing a opt-in form only returning visitors.
