    Default Press Release Distribution

When it comes to writing your own press releases and then submitting them, what is the best way to do it? Is there a particular service that works the best? I would like to start submitting press releases since Lou used to do that for us and he isn't here anymore. I didn't know too much about which distribution service he used. I just prepared them and inserted the links for keywords and he did the rest. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The best services decided to block gaming. I use free-press-release dot com. It's pretty much $1 per release to "upgrade" to allow the link and some other features. I believe it is nearly instant. It doesnt have a huge distribution like PRWeb, but I did see it showing up in SERPs within a day.

Default Hard times for press relaeses

I've had the same problem. I can't even get article directories to publish "how tos" or press releases. They kill them calling it "self serving advertising" then spam me for an advertising contract. I thought all press releases were "self serving" and I'm self employeed so I guess everything I do is self serving....wouldn't you think? Duh!

Default Here is what I found

I would try: www.Buzzle.com www.dropjack.com www.articledashboard.com www.goarticles.com and you can search for free article directories on Google and get a bunch more.
    Backlinks, backlinks and more backlinks

This is buried in "Publisher Help" in the Google help pages. not much help from the crawling walrus

    I hope this helped

Well, I guess I will check out free press release and hope for the best. I know that some of our content it pretty interesting sometimes and if we could just get it out there then people would read it.

So far I do bookmarking, buzzing, tweeting, facebook, digg and some others. I still haven't figured out how to get Technorati to include our blog though.

Checking out Google news now but I doubt that they would accept gaming news.

If you really want solid links and traffic - and links that will stick - you need to spend some money on a PR service. Everyone and their mom uses the free press releases and as far as I have seen, they do not have much weight in the link department unless you get real lucky.

I was having a conversation with a journalist friend a couple of months ago and he was saying that if you actually want your press release to get picked up by the media (rather than just for link building), it needs to go through a decent PR service and one that doesn't spam journalists in unrelated fields. He also said that the only press release site he checks is pr newswire.

Obviously there is some SEO benefit to the smaller press release sites, but don't expect your release to get picked up by CNN!
