Problem editing and saving posts

Hi Michael,

In the past week I've noticed that when I edit a post and click save that it hangs up. I have to go back to the main or subforum in order to see if my changes were made or not.

Has anyone else noticed this yet???

Actually, now that you mention it, I've observed this happening also. I'll get the development staff to look into it. We did upgrade to a newer version of vBulletin a few days ago, so it might be related to that.

Technical folks can have a wierd sense of humor. That is an account used by one of our development staff members to make an edit to your post to insert a blank character see the problem for himself.

He was able to reproduce the issue.

One thing I noticed about the edits, after performing one, if you go to another page, then come back, open the edit, and then save it the edit is done, sitting in the session temp and just didn't save...

Weird, but I have done this a few times the past few days....ok..ok...so I speel stupid sometimes....lol

We discovered a problem in the bulletin board software originating from the latest release. We've tested the issue and it now appears resolved. I'd appreciate it if those who reported the issue could take a look and confirm that things are back to normal. Thank you.

Could you tell me what you did that you think fixed it?

I am getting ready to perform an upgrade on the forum software but do not want to see this problem arise.

Rick, I upgraded to 3.8.2 last night on my board and it went perfect, no issues to report today.

I do know that the issue only occurs when the web server is IIS. If anyone else is running vBulletin in that environment, and has a problem upgrading to the latest version, just let us know and our development team can provide details regarding the required fix.

Thanks Michael, the install I plan on doing is NOT on IIS but I will keep that in mind for any installs that might end up on a windows server...
