Question from a newbie regarding content

Hi all,

First of all let me say what a great resource this forum is. So much information and guidance available - a really great tool! I have decided to create my own affiliate website and promote sportsbooks. I have a great passion for football (or soccer if you're that way inclined) and have lots and lots of ideas in terms of content.

My question is, is it better to drip feed articles on to a new website (a couple a day) or upload them all from the start off? I am a total novice when it comes to SEO etc (although learning day by day) and didn't want to harm my website from day one.

Any advice is warmly appreciated.

Experience shows us that those who concentrate on their passions overall have a higher chance of achieving ultimate success. And, the work won't always feel so much like work. The gaming and tech sectors are very competitive, however the Internet is a big place. You will need to find a niche and specialise in some areas that have good business prospects. Use different strategies to spread the risk, and see what works best.. website, websites, social media, promotions, news, media, marketing, links, collaborations etc. There's more to it than that, and you will need to put the work in, however rewards are still there for smart operators. Hi definitelymaybe and a warm welcome to GPWA. I think you should start off in small steps first and gradually work your way up the ladder. Nothing comes easy and you're going to have to put in a lot of hard work, money and patience to get to where you want to, and you will. Keep doing a little bit of woek everyday and just keep adding to your work and see what works best for you by testing what works and what doesn't for you. As mediamanoz has put it correctly, the market is very competitive and the competition will still get much harder as more and more people enter this industry. I would say there is nothing to gain by drip feeding articles.

If you have the content - upload it. It’s not going to benefit your visitors if you hold it back and SEO is all about creating a good experience for your users. It’s cliche but don’t think about what Google want - think about what’s best for your visitors.

Getting all your content up there from day 1 will allow you to see what works and what doesn’t. And don’t be put off if nothing works, keep producing more regular content and you’ll get there.

That's exactly right, Aidan90. You need to just focus on what you want and what works for you, instead of just trying to please Google all the time. This is a big mistake that I've made in the past, but I have found a way around that now. You simply have to keep experimenting to find out what will work in your favor and what will work against you. But, as you said, Getting all your content up there from the first day will give you a better picture of what you want.

It depends on how much content you would like to upload in one go. A 100+ pages or 1,000s of pages? I've always found google to treat my site more favorably when I gradually added content over a time period, than when I bulk added 100s of pages at a time.

Agree with sweetbet - I too find adding content gradually helps.

When doing or posting sth on your site, think as you are a first time visitor i.e what will catch your eye or will develop future interest. Most of the visitors are smart enough and having read many other blogs or site. If you are passionate about football , produce plenty of good work and articles every day.

Yes I would say same think, The road is very long, but never give up. Its a tough industry that requires skill that will be achieved with time, even if you sleep only 3 hours, you will still face problems of all kind, try to balance the work, the passion and the dream. Nothing will happen over night

Welcome to GPWA and thanks a lot for the answers of the users! I also had this doubt about posting content, if you have the content, you should post it right away or spread it in short time?

I think is better to wait a little bit (not a week of course ) between articles, you give the chance to your users to read and enjoy the content, and SEO benefits will come in the long time for sure.

This what I love (read: hate) about SEO! There's no one answer to a question, everyone has their own opinion. It's a case of finding what works for you.

It does not matter, google does not favor more or less because you added all content at the same time, old skool SEO houswives tale, created by so called experts to keep people reading their SEO sites and buying useless tools

Google is not stupid. The old SEO stuff, the old recipes do not really work anymore.


Therefore, it will not change much if you publish all your articles in one day or, on the contrary, in several weeks.


Anyway it will take several months before your articles have a good ranking in the SERPs.


Do what seems most logical to you. If you have less than 50 articles, publish them quickly. If you have 500 articles, you can publish them for a few weeks.


Do not worry. No matter what you decide, it will not make a big difference to SEO and you will not harm your site.
