I will not use this forum to attempt to explain the circumstances behind the images my nephew has chosen to make public. I have not visited my nephew’s site, Afrotoe.com, to view these photos for myself — to do so would only validate what he has attempted to do. Based on what people have told me, and the fact that I’m familiar enough with the contents of my own laptop, I have a pretty good idea of which images we’re talking about.
I make no apologies for my behavior in these photos. I don’t feel I need to. I’m not Tiger Woods. I haven’t stood up at a church in front of friends and family and pledged lifelong fidelity to any one woman. Nor do I ever intend to. That’s not who I am.
My nephew is still a young man. As such, his immaturity tends to rear its ugly head from time to time, and this is one of those instances. We had a disagreement over an issue that I could – but won’t – elaborate upon publicly, and the end result is that now he wants to hurt me. He thinks this is the right way to go about it. He’s wrong. I may be disappointed that he has yet to learn to deal with his emotions in a manner befitting a grown-up, but his rash actions have not hurt me.
That said, what is hurtful is the lack of respect my nephew has shown to the women in the photos. Whatever his issue with me, he had no right to expose these images to the world’s prying eyes. Tiger Woods’ women came forward of their own volition. The women in these photos were not allowed that option, and for that, I offer them my apologies on his behalf.
