    Default redirection question

When you change from html to wordpress, what is the best way to make a redirect to the new pages.

I've done this recently. You need to copy the content of your old pages to the new blog pages. Then do a permanent 301 redirect for each of the old pages using .htaccess. Remove the content from the old pages just leaving a message saying that the page has moved to the new site.

Why do you have to do the redirect?

You can keep the same URL format that you already have in HTML by changing your permalink settings in WP. You can see how to do that from here http://codex.wordpress.org/File:razz...k-settings.png

In order to add .html to your pages, go to custom links under Permalinks, and type /%category%/%postname%.html.

Ofcourse you can change it according to your requirements depending on what you wish to include. From SEO point of view, the above structure works good.
