is there somebody that use feed rss in own blog ?

if yes, you know that there is the risck that your content can be copied. Infact much people tranform your feed rss in one page html.

your content is robbed ?

do you have one solution ?

I dont use an RSS feed just yet, but have been looking into adding one over the weekend. It is not for a blog, but more to offer people a simpler way of viewing latest offers and promotions.

RSS theft does happen and adding your entire blog entry to the RSS feed would make it very easy to steal your content.

I think the easiest way to prevent it would be to only add an overview of the content you offer in the RSS feed with a link allowing the reader to visit your site to read the full content.
Atleast this way you only risk your overviews getting scraped and not the entire blog.

really guys, some webmasters ask me my permission to use my rss feed, after reviewing their sites I allow or not. Is it good for my site if I allow to use my rss feed or not?

Using an RSS feed is a good thing and its okay to allow other people to use it on their sites to display a tempting teaser of your original article and a link to your site should they wish to read more.

Obvious benefits are more backlinks, more exposure and truly targetted visitors to your site.

The more I read up on these, the more I want one !

I am surprised all of you are not using RSS feeds for your sites and blogs. Like mentioned earlier there are a lot of benefits too using one. The traffic you receive will be very targeted and this tool allows you to dive into the social media world in an effective way.
I read a while back on Shoemoney.com that he values his RSS readers at around $2.00 a piece. Might be more for gamblers as well!


I always push to gain new readers on my blog at the end of each article. However I am looking to place a larger RSS button at the top of my blog in the next few weeks.

I use RSS feeds to my page,
a lot of webmasters don't ask and put it to their page, even without linking back to the original source.

Of course this is a problem, and i always have to search who is grabbing my rss and mailing back the webmasters to link back to the original source.

When it is used correctly from others, it can only be an advantage for your site, more backlinks, etc...

But when it is used without permission it is surely a problem.

I don't know if there is any script available to check who is grabbing your feed, that would be nice to have

In the very short time I've been publishing news on 4flush.com we've showed up in lots of peoples RSS feeds, in fact I believe we're included in google news RSS feeds, so if a site is displaying google news articles on a topic we've written about, we show up on that site.

I mention the google news rss feeds because.. obviously those webmasters that are feeding google's news aren't going to be asking me permission, but i still love theyre doing it

Most of the time it's GREAT! Feed away! I love the links, it increases traffic, it provides sites with fresh content.. My writers like seeing their names up all over the internet, heck so do I and I've been writing for a few years now, it's just.. fun in general..

So obviously I generally don't mind at all. When I saw a few of my posts pop up in the cardschat forum, I was proud! I mean how awesome is it that they decided to feed my news into their forums, heck to tell the truth, after I saw it.. I thought.. wow great idea! Now I'm feeding my news into another of my forums.. great topic starter!

But then this new guy... with .homeschool -sumthinerother.. started feeding in ALL of my articles, putting some funky links at the bottom.. and I don't know why but I don't like it.

Mind you he's posting the same feed that cardschat is posting (most people post a shorter feed with a read more link.. this is pretty much the whole post - its a wordpress feed) and I was fine, if not happy with CardsChats feed..

I dunno why it bugs me, but it does, and I'm not the only one, if you're in google news, ur probly all over this guys page..

Anyway all of that said Aksana... it should be ok even if their site is crap to let them use your feed, because if their site sucks, well then their visitors will come see your much better content Isaiah using the shorter feeds that are more a description like you find in google with a title should solve any duplicate content worries

RSS content summaries are the best way to ensure that entire articles are not scraped.

If you have regularly updated (blog) content then getting your RSS out there on other websites is a great way to increase inbound links.

If anyone used feedburner, PM me for some good tips on getting the most from that feed and making some good inbound links.
