It doesn't matter you are based in London or Sydney. SEO job for our niche is always very difficult task. Promoting roulette and sports betting is not the same like promoting shoes for spring time.

I never said it does. Forgot to mention I have lots of experience and clients in the gambling industry with many sites ranking highly. If you want to know more, you are more than welcome to PM or Skype me.

Promoting gambling sites must be very difficult, right? Many sites and forums do not allow gambling related links.

Hi, what would you say is the most difficult part about ranking a gaming site? How does it differ from ranking sites in other niches? I understand SEO very well and do most of my own work but this will be my first sports betting campaign.

Maybe i am wrong. But i don't understand what means term "Seo expert".
If somebody real seo expert, who knows how to get high ranks for gambling/non-gambling sites, the best way for this person - create their own sites and make tons of money.

All these "seo experts" and "seo companies" it's like people who teach another people "How to make billions".

Anybody may sign-up at oDesk.com and find at that site many thousands "seo experts", "seo professionals" e.t.c. who know all google secrets...

I have always thought the same, i get many SEO expert emails of these so called gurus yet when I analyze their sites they are pretty much non existent, it's the same as Business teachers, Never ran a business but will teach you how to do it.. even if they cannot succeed at being an entrepreneur themselves, More so in the tech side of biz there is no real schooling as such... maybe for basic skills but to be on top you have to be innotive and think outside the box.. something which cannot be taught imo

the only way I would hire someone else to do SEO for me is if they ranked on google for 'seo'

You are right, if they are so super professional SEO gurus, why they are selling their services for 5 dollars at Fiverr, and for some few bucks more at Seoclerks or Odesk ? Buying those services is waste of money and time, also it will give you headaches and depression (from my very bad experience, I was very naive) . May be there are some good specialists, but I have not found them yet.

Very good points about so called SEO 'specialists'. It's all a load of bollocks. A supply and demand industry where people know that people need SEO experts so they set themselves up as one. It's simple opportunism. Most of these people don't have a clue and will get you thrown out of Google within 6 months.

I agree it's also the same in real world teaching situations, such as with these business classes you can go to set up by the government, ABSOLUTELY USELESS. Half the people teaching there are just churning out some crap course and going through the motions, they've never ran their own successful business in their life.

I have a saying, mainly applicable in business but also other areas of life:

Those who can, DO, those who can't, TEACH.

    Hi Jim,

Welcome! Which London based agency did you work for if you don't mind me asking? I also worked in London for about 2 years. In regards to all your comments about the SEO industry - even coming from such an industry myself. I have to say a lot of it is true, we had clients paying for SEO where account managers had never ranked one of their own sites. My thinking has always been if you can't do it for yourself then why should someone pay you to do it for them.

Unfortunately there is a lot of hot air in the industry, we worked for a lot of major brands with huge budgets. We were able to capitalise off their brand as opposed to a brand new site in a competitive market. Although I started off my journey in SEO by doing it for myself and then going into work. I'm truly ready to dedicate to myself back to doing it for myself.

As for me, I think that such "expert" SEO Agency can only take your money. Do you really think that somebody will care about your site as you? The goal is money. Moreover, any successful seo agency wouldnt search clients such way (I think that Jim is searching noobs only). By the way, where is the link to this agency?
P.S. Even skilled seo guys dont say that they are experts.
