    Default SEO company warning

I would just like to post this here as a review of the services I received.

I was contacted by an SEO India representative, someone named Deepti Pandey selling links. I needed some so decided to take them up on the offer. In hindsight it was a silly thing to do. The links got my site banned in Google and they refused to refund my money saying they provided a good service. I am half expecting them to reply to this thread saying the same thing.

So, yeah, just a warning, if contacted by them don't use them. They do low quality bad work.

Yeh mate, there are literally hundreds of low quality Indian SEO companies.

They advertise as Panda/Penguin proof etc, but when I actually asked a few of these companies what are you actually going to do for the money, they laid out a bunch of techniques that are a year or 2 out of date and that are exactly the sort of things you don't want to be doing e.g. multiple directory spamming, tons of spammy forum profiles, link commenting, linking from poor websites, site-wide paid links etc etc.

I'd say in terms of SEO either do it yourself if you have a low budget or if you want to pay, pay decent money for a good up-to-date UK company to do it for you, or else you will run into issues down the line.

I have been looking into hiring someone to do a little work for me as well. It is tough to try to "weed" through all the offers. Bad enough you are putting up money but then for them to hurt your site is brutal!

Its a small matter of "be careful what you wish for".

I would give the SEO firm a minor domain to work with, prove their worth, and only then ***maybe*** let them touch the money-making domain.
