SEO for mobile search?

Hi quick question for you lovely people. Currently I redirect my mobile traffic to a mobile version of the site. The mobile version is set to noindex, nofollow. Recently I have been reading about optimising for mobile searchers, i.e. have content and on site seo for your mobile version? Do any of you do this? What are the benefits, searching on my iphone I get the same (as far as I'm aware) as my desktop results. #Confused #WeighingUpTheBenefits

As far as results go, im 99% sure the serps will be the same on say google on a pc and google search on a phone. I think the benefits of a mobile site is for customers. Viewing a non mobile/responsive site on a phone is a bit of a pain, not just the actual page but the menus etc.

plus one for what the previous poster said basically. Smart phones are getting bigger and smarter, I don't feel the need to have a mobile version personally, app or nothing (edit- unless you mean seo for smart phone terminology?)

Cheers for your reply. I am glad you agree regarding the serps being the same on google regardless of the device. I think I am happy with the solution I have for mobile traffic at the moment. When the dynamics change (which they will eventually) i.e. google serves up different results to mobile users, this is when I will address it.
