Seo - Is it possible

Curious but can a site that is almost 10 mths old have no PR, minimal to almost nil in backlinks recieve unique traffic in and around 50K/month?

I know this is an odd question but just curious about something I had seen and could not believe for myself...thought I would ask since you need backlinks and content to get your hits, without those two ingredients what chances does a site have?

I guess the only way it could possibly have this amount of traffic without being advertised in some way would be if the name gets type in traffic. It think the name would have to be very good to get these numbers though.

Do you know where the traffic is supposed to be coming from?

That traffic needs to be qualified. There are still many umanned web surfing operations out there. Call them crawlers or spiders - but some have malintent (scraping, for example). I use Statcounter or Google Analytics which seems to do a decent job filtering out there "fake" hits.

Perhaps you can use these tools to identify a source for the traffic. Which is key to marketing to those folks.

maybe the site has traffic from mailing lists. I know one person from Chine, she has a site, the site is a year old as I remember, search engines don't know about this site except Google, the site doesn't have backlinks. And these person told me that the site had 300 unique per day and she earned $3k per month (she is on CPA only). I was surprised because it seemed unbelievable for me even 3k per month, but she told me that she had mailing list. Maybe she sends spam but I'm not sure, but she earns from her mailing list. The main question for me: where did she get her mailing list?

Some buy email addys from others. I personally find this tacky, and a complete show of dishonesty....but that's my opinon about that...lol

Hi,

I get very few but exclusive number of email addys and find it hard to believe that even with the exclusiveness of addys I receive .. that they'd ever amount to anything in form of email ads sent to them.

so either this person has an extreme number of people to solicit .....or they're not being honest with you in terms of respective real players their list produces.

With a big downline at trafficswarm or similars, that's pretty possible.
Of course the traffic is low quality and the 99% is clicking just to earn the credit.

BUt buying traffic can not have that big of turnover I would think. So if you were selling ads would you not need to disclose this as part of your traffic resources seeing as they are not natural?

I don't understand the whole buying traffic thing. Is it not the same as PPC in which case can become a watse of money if clicks are not legit?

If you dont have many hits coming to your site, the only way to build a mailing list would to have one from a previous site, or is buying traffic from a spam server or something along those lines. Making that kind of money and getting that much traffic does not seem feeswable.

Just my two cents...
