There are tons of different tools that work on improving your SEO, but SEO is a broad term and it depends what you're looking for. For example, Yoast is ok and it gives you some practical advice (which is still just advice!), but focuses mainly on content SEO.

It would make sense to look into technical SEO as well (page loading speed, render blocking, fonts, ... basically everything about page loading). There are tons of free measuring tools out there, for example Google Page Insights or Lighthouse in DevTools for Google or GT Metrix. To fix some errors found with those tools, I found the Autoptimize plugin to be very useful. It takes care of your javascript and CSS files, combines them, optimizes them and so on. In combination with a plugin that asyncs and defers javascript, it can make quite a difference!

Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to find a plugin or online tool that audits your website on a regular basis just to stay on track and get prompted for details like missing meta descriptions, alt texts and other possible errors, which aren't a huge problem on their own but can accumulate quickly if you aren't paying attention.
Most online tools offer this (Ahrefs, Semrush, ...), but I reckon there are tons of plugins that do the job as well. I personally tend to stay away from plugins unless I don't have any other choice because must plugins almost always add some weight to your website and since you're optimizing it doesn't make sense to do that.

Here's some feedback for you, try using the forum's search option, because there are plenty of threads discussing this exact topic. Asking this question again, and those like it, or anything to do with Wordpress, has likely been asked many times before.

So save us all a repeat, and simply find your answers with the search option.

Of course if at that stage you can't find the answer, by all means post a a question in a new thread.

About your question I would say depending on the purposes.
Yoast is a very good but maybe you have some specific needs.

don't use any plugins imo, write your own code to handle SEO , and reduce plugin bloat.
it's not rocket science.

Consider the following:

Rank Math is 3x lighter than Yoast SEO which means you will have a 3x faster website using Rank Math. Both SEO plugins will generate a sitemap for your site and there is no obvious difference between their sitemaps. However, Rank Math has a better UI and consequently is easier to work with.

I don't know about Semrush, but Ahrefs does include Latvia in it's keyword research options:


Of course, you would need to perform actual keyword research to see what kind of data Ahrefs has on the Latvian market (which also depends on the selected search engine, market and keywords). All other Ahrefs tools are country-independent and should work like everywhere else.

About plugin, Rank Math and All in one SEO are famous in my opinion.
If you look for SEO tools, there are many depending on purpose.
Ex)Semrush,
Ahrefs,
Majestick...
