Setting up on Youtube

I'm a Youtube idiot - apart from watching or embedding of course.

Anyone got any advice on how to get started with posting my own, building a channel, optimizing etc

Or links to any 'covers everything' articles.

One of the thing that may not seems that important but may seriously get on your way is the artwork for your channel. You will need quite big pictures so you want to prepare that before you launch, unless one think a grey header and no profile pic fit with one definition of optimized.

What you can do:
- add a picture and background picture of your channel
- add a description of your channel to "about us" section
- connect channel to socials
- upload some videos and add descriptions to these videos
- subscribe to some channels similar tou your

That's for the good beginning!

As for the YouTube Cover Art, there are a few important points to remember:


- Cover must be smaller than 2MB in file size
- Cover dimensions must be 2560 x 1440 pixels
- During design be aware of the crop area for the desktop format (2560 x 423, but remember that text and logo safe area is 1546 x 423 pixels), mobile format (1546 x 423 pixels), tablet format (1855 x 423 pixels) and TV format (2560 x 1440 pixels)
