Default Skrill pulling out of Canada?

I got this email from Bet Victor.

We are contacting you with regards to the chosen method of payment on your affiliate account which will no longer be a viable method for receiving affiliate commissions from us in the future.

As of January 1st 2014 Skrill/Moneybookers will no longer be operating in Canada. Therefore we require you to log into your affiliate account and change your payment method to either Neteller, Bank transfer or BetVictor Player account before December 31st 2013.

May we remind you that the threshold for payment to Neteller and BetVictor player account is £50 or equivalent, for player account an invoice is also required before payment can be processed. For payment via Bank Transfer the threshold is £500 or equivalent.

For reasons of security please do NOT respond to this e mail by sending us your payment details.

Anyone know if this is factual for the Canadian market? Any other programs following?

Is it possible to make this thread only viewable to people who are logged in?

If so, then I will be happy to post here.

I do not think it can be restricted while it is in the public area...
As a private area thread it would automatically require a valid private member login - but then AMs can't see it ?

    Hmm ...

Combined with the prospective Europartners pull out of Canada it appears that several organisations believe offering gambling to Canadian residents will not be legal in 2014.

I cannot find any analysis on impending law changes though ... anyone able to shed some light on what's happening?

You could be right about that. I just thought there was a way to make certain forums viewable to logged in members only as I know Casinomeister has that option.

Renne I think you can start a thread in your rewards affiliates private member section if you want.

    Default Skrill Canada

    I got the same email...
The email recommended that I use Neteller...
Now, I haven't used Neteller in a while because I thought THEY TOO don't allow gambling related payments to Canadians...?
    Can anyone clarify this?
( I would love to be able to use Neteller again )

This will be a nice readers potpourri. They are of three kinds: Private members, public members and now the non logged-in audience, that is not allowed to read all public topics.

I have no Neteller account but called them a few minutes ago.

    It's easy: http://www.neteller.com/support/

If you enter for the 12 digit account number the computer voice is asking when you call, 000000000000 then you will redirected to a real person who answer some questions without having an account.

The lady told me, that people who are living in Canada, are welcome to open an account but it's restricted. The verification process is harder, and you are not allowed to transfer money to online casinos.

I think, if the 3rd party payment processor of Victors Affiliates is not known as a casino processor then the email from Victors Affiliates ("change your payment method to either Neteller") is right, but for a detailed and correct answer you have to contact your affiliate manager or better two of them.

One of my programs sent me similar email this morning.I live in Canada and can't see anything changing here in terms of making it taxable and outlawing online casinos.

I too cannot see any changes. I searched made calls went to Ottawa legislative building and found nothing new. I did find this long boring article interesting link below.

    http://dspace.ucalgary.ca/bitstream/...1/4/lipton.pdf

Neteller or Skrill was never a viable web wallet from my province.

I wonder if it has to do with being able to offer services in USA maybe they have to let go of all unregulated markets.Just throwing it out there...

I have heard something similar. Some sources say it is all about protecting citizens from fraudulent practices where there is no legal recourse. In this sense regulation maybe around the corner for Canada, however, this would be a provincial matter. So no real answers yet. Personally I doubt much will change.

No patriot act in Canada lol

You are correct. Neteller do not allow Canadian gambling payments.

Neteller pulled out years ago and to a point I understand it as they were operating from Canada.Probably same reason every software or Casino with offices in Canada(not on a Indian Reserve) don't accept Canadian players.

Objet : Changements importants chez Skrill

    Cher(e) ******* ******,

    Cordialement,

Anyone have ideas how Canadian Affiliates will get commissions? Can some Ams post what their programs plan to do?

I think I've seen Instadebit available at a few programs, that's the only wallet I've used other than Skrill. The only reason I switched to Moneybookers was the fact that Instadebit isn't accepted at all casinos, and even less affy programs pay to it.

Is there a decent option for us that's already available at most programs? Should we all start pushing them to get Instadebit?

There are a few advantages to us if we can use Instadebit. When withdrawing money from the wallet to your bank, it comes from a Canadian bank so it's not an international wire transfer. And if they ever pull out of Canada, that would be the end of their business because they only serve Canadians.
