    Default Some help please!

    Hi Everyone,

With having to be so tricked up on every little scam and other BS that dodgy webmasters use these days to try to get up on SE's, there come a time when motives are over my head. This is one of those times.

I'm at a loss as to why this person who owns xxxhttp://www.pokersites123.org

Has pulled my YouTube vid and also my xxxhttp://technorati.com/ tags to this site???

    xxxhttp://www.pokersites123.org/movies/

I can only think that they're hoping that people looking for this video or keywords will click on their site, maybe also thinking it will get them up in the SE's...

Here is the question...Should I be concerned about this? Is the site owner trying to pull a shifty?

    Cheers

    Dave

    Default Confront Him

Hi there, I would confront this web owner and right out ask him what the F**K do you think you are playing at. Go for the throat. Not like you to sit back and ask for our advice. Cheers

    Hi ironman,

Actually I'm not a hard ass... unless I feel someone is playing me. Then yes I do go in hard. I believe in circumstances like that people need to be told straight up how it is!

However, in this regard I'm not sure what this person is up to. Hence the post & direct question.

If your confirming that this person is up to dodgy sh#t & using my sh#t to gain SERPs...The yes I will go in hard.

Do you mind clarifying (or your impression) why my content is on this site?

    Cheers

Ok so their up to dodgy sh#t... They're leeching content from Youtube... I go for that technicality...As fas as Technorati I'm sure I'll dig something up their TOS or copyright info that will put the kibosh on this BS.

I'm going to start sending out emails now...

Hello Dave, probably i could be wrong, i personally wouldn't be worried, my opinion is that the webmaster liked your video and decided to share it in his/her website. Visitors could be attracted by the video as well and decide to visit your site after looking at the URL in the movie.

I'd agree 100% if it was just the video...but...

They've also scraped my (and 100's of others) blog tags over at xxxhttp://technorati.com/ and that's my concern.

In affect anyone doing a search for the tags I've used to associate my blog posts, this site will also be listed in the SE results.

    That's my issue...

I think the Youtube hot linking is there to create the impression that it's all on the up and up...But I feel (I could be just paranoid) there is something more sinister going on here.

    Cheers

    Default Below the belt

I feel this person is stealing content from your site for his own means. Which is below the belt in anybody's language.

    Dave,

I can't speak to the technorati tags. But the video seems innocent enough. They've used the standard code that YouTube provides to embed the video onto a page. I was actually pretty surprised that YouTube offered the code so readily, but I've used it ever since. If you want, you can request that YouTube not provide the embedding code. Lots of users take advantage of this option. But as Paolino notes, you're probably getting free advertising off it right now.
