Default Specific or broad affiliate site - whats best

    Hi Forum'ers,

I would like to know peoples thoughts on whether a specific or niche affiliate site is going to be more successful than a broad site e.g. slots vs online casinos.

    Any thoughts

Depends on the resources you throw at it. If you are starting fresh with a low budget then I would start with a niche you know well that can be expanded. IE: start with European Blackjack and expand into other forms of Blackjack down the line ending up aiming pages at all Blackjack terms. That way you build a decent authoratative site targetting good value keywords over a period of time on a regular basis which Google should like more. Once you have some traffic and a good broad set of BJ terms, you can start to focus in on the broader terms from the homepage and directory indexes.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. You went to a further level of niche than i was expecting. I was thinking more blackjack vs. online casinos, however your reply really identifies that with my time and resources i should definitely be concentrating on niche rather than mass.

    Thanks again

A broader term web site allows you to target many sub categories or specialized content. It also helps pool your resources and links to one site rather than a number of separate niche sites.

I generally support targeting specific niches then branching out once you have mastered that niche
