I really have trouble understanding why affiliate managers keep up with this (contact me in email) when it concerns questions asked by affiliates that if answer publicly could benefit ALL affiliates.

Why they fail to understand the more we see this the less attractive it becomes to work with them.

Trying to take every single question and answer private does no good for a number of reasons.

1) When there is a specific question about a marketing tool, promo, stats issue, etc etc ..... that concerns hundreds of affiliates, you could answer the querstion one time and help hundreds of affiliates at once or could could be barraged with hundreds of questions in email asking the same thing over and over and over and....

2) Do you think the answers provided will not be shared with other affiliates? You may think not but most of us are quick to be sure and pass this information on because we have a sincere desire to help our fellow affiliates.

We are not talking about issues here that should not be made public, or issues dealing with very specific stats issues, or a payment issue dealing with a single affiliate, but issues that need a specific answer that should likely be the same answer provided to all affiliates.

This has happened sooooo many times over the years, so I am not thinking it will end, but another thing that won't end is the sharing of information amongst affiliates, both in the actual answers we are provided with as well as how difficult it was to get that answer.

I would think that a sponsor program would use their forum to spread the word. For all the programs that are sponsors very few are active and nearly none utilize the tools that the GPWA offers them. Perhaps they feel a full inbox means success?

You're right, maybe they do feel that an inbox full of questions, even if they are the same questions from 100 affiliates, that could take days to follow-up on and answer is better than answering 100 affiliates with a single post days sooner.

This of course would free them up to spend more time working more closely with affiliates concentrating on things like conversions etc....

Some affiliate managers might prefer email to keep a history of their interaction with individual affiliates. I email myself quite often when I have something important I either don't want to forget or just might need to refer to at a later point. My mail program is almost like a bible to me.

I understand some managers wanting to track some things in email, but the power of the forum is to get the answers here for ALL to see.

Obviously all private business matters should remain private and email is suited for that.
