I had a girlfriend once who pierced her nose by putting a frozen chip up her nose and then pushing a pin through her nose and into said chip.

LOL .... just a piece of raw potato soaked in ice water for about 3 or 4 minutes, then hold it where you want a piercing, and in goes the sterilized needle, no pain.
