    I used Joomla for a small project around the time of the original post, as others have said Wordpress was and is far easier and more flexible.

    This is a super old thread... as you can see from my previous posts I was quite pro-joomla back then, but we have move almost all sites off joomla now and I wouldn't use it for future projects.

    It was good at the time, but the lack of linear upgrades made it unmanageable after J3. It was also quicker to convert to wordpress than upgrade to J4 on sites that had a lot of custom coding or components. Plus developers abandoned it in droves.

    It is complicated, not user friendly and doubt it's a good choice now.
