    Default Thoughts on Minimum Payments

I inquired about a payment today and was told they have now updated the Minimum payout via Crypto to 300 Euros .More and more programs are increasing the minimum payments .$100 was always the normal and many still use it but it is very cheap to send Crypto ,we do it many times a month and cost $1.00 - $3.00 even when we pay the premium higher fees.
Shouldn't they give us other options if they want to increase our Minimum payments ?

That's a problem indeed. There are good programs out there (don't know if i can mention in public here) that really honor their payouts even being small. It think it is a matter of finding those good programs and affiliate managers and as affiliates also honor our commitment to them.
Haven't been able to get in touch with a blue brand starting with "P", it is a small payment, but hell still we should be able to withdraw, tried to contact every affiliate manager i found, contact form... nothing.

So lesson, develop a good relationship with good brand that honor their T&C and stuck to them. I can send you some that have worked for us in private.

    Have a great day!

Rarely are they increasing minimum payments because of processing costs. More often than not it is to try and get rid of smaller affs who are generating lower levels of commissions each month.

I remember when MarketPlay (Mr Play) increased to €800 minimum, it is just a p*ss take and clearly designed to screw the smaller affiliate.

I've also seen programs increase minimum thresholds to over €500 and then say any comms not claimed within 12 months are wiped out.

It is all set up to screw us.

Someone has to administer the list of payments, and make them happen I can understand that having staff making payments is a big deal and comes with costs. Pulling the list, authorizing and checking each payment recipient and details.

Given the usual 80/20 rule that seems to apply to most things affiliate .. if they paid out EVERY amount then you might imagine it's 4x more payments. That takes time and effort and money.

Add in the fact that someone getting a regular payment is probably easier, as the recipient is identified, and if they were paid last month then details are likely to be good. An irregular payment (or first time payment) requires more care and effort.

What sort of regime would suit affiliates ?
    ---------------------------------------------
If a program said $250 for free payments (no fees)
Under that you can request a special payment but there is a $50 charge ... for time and effort and costs

Would that make affiliates happy? Hah! I doubt it.

I am an international recipient for most payments, so I've gone the other way, asking programs to raise my minimum to $1K, $2K and even $5K payouts to reduce the "each time" bank charges of $20 to $25.

It means some programs only pay me once per quarter, but I do save $5K to $10K annually on bank fees.

Gooner this is crypto payments there is very little processing costs .The group I spoke about use to pay $100 Minimum and increased the Minimum without notice and now they pay last day of month. IMO things like this usually are ways to keep money in house and may be sign of some issues. Vista Gaming use to be very good to us then the minimum $500 for Crypto started and shortly after slow pays or no pays then dropped to 10% .We had pending $3000 based on our 40% that got reduced to $1200 with 10% ,they paid us 2/3 then no words after .

I agree that $100 used to be the "standard" across almost all affiliate program niches not just gambling/casino.. Still is for most while others have gone down with how easily payments work and how little processing costs are these days, but not in this industry for some reason. Of the three I promote most often, one is $100 while another is $300 and the third is $500.. Hard to believe there are affiliate programs in 2025/2026 with a $500 minimum payment threshold, lol... As previously mentioned - this is done for nothing more than to screw over more affiliates (smaller ones) and pay them out as seldomly as possible. Don't be naive and believe it's for any other reason...

I can understand minimum payment requirements but some are ridiculous, as high as $1000!

Crypto certainly should be much lower than wire transfers. There is little cost to the operator to process these payments.

This is the bit I don't agree with - there is plenty of HR cost in creating a list of thousands of small payments and making sure that it's all executed flawlessly.

With the 80/20 rule you could expect 4x more small payments than with existing systems.
All having to be vetted, paid and then verified as correctly done.

I pay my sports writers monthly - 6 guys and it takes me about 20-25 minutes to calculate amount, enter details, check correctness and then send. You have to be careful, correct, and accurate. It takes time.

Systems when employees handle money or money transactions (even crypto) have to be tightly scrutinised.

At 3 minutes per transaction, 1000 transactions takes 3000 minutes or 50 hours !!!
There is a cost, and there is a risk to handling many small financial transactions - especially if it is "just" crypto.

You’re spot on about the fees. Even with 'premium' priority, crypto transactions don't cost anywhere near enough to justify a 300 Euro minimum. It’s clearly not about the transaction costs, but about keeping the liquidity on their side. If they want to raise the minimums, they should at least offer low-fee coins like LTC or TRX with much lower limits.
