    Default Thread derailing

This is a sincere call on the MODS to come down hard on thread derailing.

Some threads are becoming impossible to follow because every second post is someone having a go about a personal issue.

And if someone has a problem with another member because of an issue they had on another message board they should resolve it there, they should not be allowed to drag it in here.

If you have an opinion about someone, share it with them. The rest of us should not have to waste our time trying to speed read past ranting and raving posts.

    Have a lovely day.

    Stgeorge

There is no need for any other warning because this is my last message on this board. I disassociate myself from the board population here because the problem is not grand prive - the problem is you!

See ya....and don't let the door hit you in the ass!

Ya know.....wouldn't it be funny to find out that "Mr. Nitro" is really an executive for Grand Prive'?

He only has 90 posts...all supporting issues that no other affiliate supports, which has to say he is not an affiliate.....and is always sticking up and defending a piece of **** program that all other affiliates want closed.....except Nitro??? Doesn't this sound strange to anyone else?

Yes stgeorge, we know that the thread derailing has been increasing a bit lately, and it is something that Anthony and I have discussed in pm's a number of times, and all the mods have been trying to keep a closer eye on lately.

What some members do not always see are the posts that get moved before they have a chance to be annoyed by them,

We have mods that browse the forum at different times of the day and night in an attempt to catch some of the crap a bit sooner.

In addition, the spam has climbed a bit recently, and in fact I have recently been deleting more of it instead of editing the posts, and at times I have as of the past few days started allowing the spam notice message to stand in the thread as a help to other mods to see how much spam certain members are posting so we can watch the trends and track patterns.

We understand the frustration some of this has caused members, and apologize, but want everyone to know that we are aware and be sure to let us know about specific issues as they arise.

I'm assuming that nitro has now been banned since I can't quote him in any threads and I can't seem to report his posts anymore...??

It turns out I was trying to report/respond to a thread that was being removed at that exact time from this thread: https://www.gpwa.org/forum/rival-ded...on-187377.html

    Thanks for the replies.

Rick I appreciate the work you and other Mods to moving threads etc but maybe it's just me but I see some bahaviour that on many other boards will have had people banned or at least sent on a sabbatical. And I am not just referring to our good friend and friendly citizen Nitro.

I have limited time to browse forums and it's becoming unproductive. Every time you get into a thread to start understanding an issue you inevitably end up running into a he said / she said schoolyard fight. Most would agree they are not interested.

Create a forum for it and by all means people can have a full go but keep it here.

Yes, some threads do tend to get off track at times...heck sometimes it's even my fault...but I don't post much so live with it...LOL

Yes we try to keep them on track, and the schoolyard fights do tend to get annoying and we do try to get those reduced when we see them starting....

One thing that some newer members may not realize is that we do not EVER like deleting messages, and we try to go out of the way to not edit them either....(we have always felt that deleting posts when uneccessary is a form of supression or censorship that we try to avoid)

DISCLAIMER: Lately Anthony, Paolino and myself HAVE been doing this more for those that are completly off-topic or those that are clearly only selfpromotions and link spamming.

The occassional side track or bit of humor thrown in there will likely not change, and frankly does in fact make a lot of members days a bit more enjoyable so they are always left alone (as long as it doesn't get out of hand)

Another thing everyone must remember is that this is a business that a lot of people are very passionate about, and sometimes that shows in their posting style.

Also, since many people are from other countries and backgrounds and cultures, what we might say one way someone else from a different culture, also attempting to say it in English when that may not be their native language may come off as a bit different.

Trust me though, we are coming down harder all the time on the personal attacks. They will NOT be tolerated.

And I totally agree that if someone has a beef with another member (public or private) at another board, then it HAS NO BUSINESS HERE!

Take it private or take it elsewhere.

Thanks for the input, and by all means, let us know when you think we have been missing something....and you can always reach us by pm too,
