Great pointers mate. Problem i always have with twitter is unless your willing to add a billion people and get a million people adding you back then building traffic from twitter or even helping your rankings has to be done at a rediculous rate.

You have to tweet about 50 times a day to actually help rankings and even get that profile indexed in the top 50 SERPs for a keyword.

What twitter is good for is what it initially was built for it is awesome at letting your follows know about bonuses brands etc.

    All in all useful.

Yes of course you tweet links are nofollow but the profile link i believe is not and thats what passes linkjuice through. So tweeting like mad on your twitter account will help you attain PR on that profile (like regular content). The link juice will then pass through to you Website.

Above post needs deleted since it had screwed this thread!!

Sorry but the above post had to be deleted since whatever kind of copy/paste he did hosed the thread in IE.

I think it had something to do with office embedded tags from the original source. In fact I had to load Firefox just so I could come back in and perform the moderation.

I deleted it from firefox but tested it on a few versions of IE before doing so and it clearly hosed IE on all versions I tied it on.

Your post was a large ion contribute to this community and was very helpful to me. In fact, I hope to have a few tips for the traffic of Twitter and SEO. And I'm glad I found the advice here. This thread is overrun by spam signal links have nothing to do with the game industry and the posts are stupid one liners that add zero relevance to the discussion.

Does anyone have a Twitter-speak dictionary? I'm just getting into Twitter, and this talk of 'Auto completing in Tweets', and 'Displaying meta data through hover tooltips' has got me thinking I'm doing it all wrong.

As an addition to those pointers. In case you do need your customers to know you are following their tweets use a Twitter account along with your business name. In case you do not need your customers to know you are keeping tabs on them, open a separate anonymous Twitter account and do not link to your business web-site.

Sadly, my guess is that more than 10% of the people that post here do so ONLY for the link benefit.....(very conservative estimate by the way)

This is NOT done strictly by affiliates either.....

When you tweeting and advertising a message about your content via twitter, you should be careful about the keywords you select. Take benefits of any buzz words that your content might use to entice more viewers. This doesn’t mean you should over fill your tweets with keywords spam but its good to use niche specific words. you can use # and @ symbols as well.
