Update article or create new?

I suggest adding rel="canonical" if you want to keep writing new posts about same slots. Simpluy add canonical tag containing newest post to all older posts. It helped me a lot with articles about annual happening but very similar every year.

In my opinion, updating seems to be better option then creating new articles. However it depend from your current position. Maybe if article doesn't have good ranking it's better to create a new one.
