Default Using a VPN to access banned sites

    Hi all,

I've seen this posted at the A4U forum and wondered if it would work...

( Update: in fact, I can list it here as i'm not allowed links in my posts. That's crazy!)

For those who won't click through, it essentially details how an affiliate can offer their visitors the opportunity to sign up for a VPN to get round any country-level bans for certain websites.

The logic seems there, but i was under the impression that, for US players at least, the ban doesn't affect people actually visiting the banned gambling websites. It affects their ability to legally transfer money to these sites. Is that correct?

I also know that for UK gaming sites licensed in the UK, you must have a UK post-code to gamble, so it wouldn't help there either.

Anyone have any examples of using this idea to benefit casino sign-ups?

There are many ways around the ban to US players but, as you mentioned, the money is the issue, sure you can gamble to your hearts content but try to cash it out. Best to stick with the reputable sites that allow US traffic.

I agree that most country level bans are based upon the financial end of it.

In addition to that, by coaching your visitors on how to get around a country ban by convicing them to use a vpn service, proxy or any other method, you would be breaking the terms and conditions that you agreed to to market their properties.

Why would you want to jeopardize that?

And, if most affiliate programs knew who it was that was recommending this to other affiliates, they would likely not be happy.

If you can't cash out, what's the point. I agree, not worth the risk.
