Videos in relation to SERPS

Recently I have posted a new USA Casino section at my site mac-online-slots.com . I have posted two pages for each casino. I am looking for some comments from some members who have more experience than me to get some feedback on the page ranking the video page is getting in relation to the pure text pages.
The results are very interesting. What I found was that the video pages swamped the text pages by a long way.

First let me describe the difference in page content VIDEO vrs TEXT pages.

VIDEO PAGES- video pages had a 2 min video at the very top of the page that I served myself. I have not posted them on youtube yet. Below the video I placed 200 words of text . Below the text are some resume charts of the casino . These same charts are part of the TEXT pages as well, put dispersed between the text. But that is it. It was not that hard of work to create.

TEXT PAGE- This is the page I was focused on and put 10 X the time and effort into it so as to knock the competition off the 1st page. But it didn't work. I have about 3000-4000 words of text on each of these pages for each different USA casino. Each page contains some images and charts. I have worked the SEO architecture more or less the same for the VIDEO and the TEXT pages, with meta , internal links, h1 titles with keywords, etc.

RESULTS,
I ran my keywords through Rank Tracker to see how they did after a day or so. The long involved well written text pages never showed on the radar. The ONLY pages that showed were the short VIDEO pages. Interesting! Every one sort of develops his own format for his site. I ma in the process of creating my "style" as well. I like videos and "serve them myself".

Let me use Slotland as the example. Below are the 8 keywords searched: and beside the word is the ranking I received.

But what is more surprising than fast enter into the first page in Google was the fact that in every single one of these searches the results are for the VIDEO not the TEXT pages. The text pages lagged behind a few pages if they surfaced at all.

I had 7 casinos newly done. The bigger the casino the farther back in the search results I went. Slotland, Winaday, PlayersOnly were very similar standings... up on the 1st page. Superior I was on the 1st and 2nd page. English Harbour, Millionare and Sportsbook i was on pages in the 4 to 8's.

But EVERY SINGLE result had the VIDEO not the TEXT pages.

Ok the post must have been too long to read because, it is really a freaky thing that happened. I made a video review on Slotland and it is showing on the first page in a search for Maria casino. There is no link to Slotland on that page . So Why?????

do a search on google with:
"Maria Online Casino Reviews" to see Slotland show.

Well I though this was an interesting experiment. Do you think it makes a difference if the videos are hosted on your site or somewhere else?

If the video was not hosted on my site then it would not be original content. If the video was the boost up in serps (IF?) then it would need to be original. But a lot of things can happen to change serps. I am not 100% sure if the vid was the boost. But I feel that it was. Where a post starts out in the game ( links to and from) can effect serps as well. I havent really made an indepth study of the differences in the text and the vid post. But looking at them quickly I feel they had very similar links to/from.

My immediate thought is that the rankings are being affected by stick-ability. If the average user spends 2 minutes on your page watching a video, and only 30 seconds skimming text that could potentially affect rankings.

No they were posted for the 1st time only a very short time before these results. and most likely had no visits yet. There was no difference in times therefore. I cant say that with 100% certainty. But I will keep that in mind as I am looking at differences in vids vs text in the upcoming months.

Today I am doing a Vid Review for a casino I have had up for a while with a normal text review. I will see if it penetrates farther than the older text pages I have for them. The previous examples I have been talking about, all the pages where published at the same time.

very nice insight. how do you find conversion via video?
do you have more clicks to the casino page?

Conversions would come with more traffic of coarse. Videos would have back links to your site when posted on certain video web site hosts such as Youtube. I understand there are a few more that would allow back links. But I am not sure who.
ANYBODY KNOW??
Metacafe does not allow backlinks. So What is your take on the value of MetaCafe with no backlinks?

But If videos do give you a better SERP then that would be the big conversion ticket.
That would be enough, wouldn't you think?

I use Camtasia for Mac. It is very intuitive, easy to learn and has sufficient capabilities to put out a n OK video. Camtasia for PC I have seen. It is more complicated and I would imagine not as easy to learn. But most likely once it is dove into would be just as good. The PC version cost $1,000 if I am not mistaken. The Mac version $300.
