    Angry WARNING: Scam Artist

Be aware that a guy going by the name of Billy Sears contacted Casino Plex, claiming his company "Gambling Leads" had a relationship with us and tried to sell them advertising space on one of our sites.

Harry from Plex smelled a rat and contacted us. Unfortunately they had paid him some up-front monies and he disappeared.

    Programs beware.

    Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks for the warning you posted. This guy has just contacted us as well, wanting an upfront payment, as it 'wouldn't be fair to his other clients to work on a Rev Share or CPA deal'.

Earlier this month I had someone from a reputable affiliate program join our forum as a member, then private message me the following:

I would like to know if anyone at your site, knows Janne Kupari?

We have paid him to advertise on this site and I cant see that we are being promoted. Apparently according to a post on CAP forum he and a guy named Tomi Viljanen which claims to be from Casinorumble are using your site to claim that they do advertisment for you. We were told that they are rogue affiliates which scam casinos for money and then dissapear.

I thought that the member of this forum should know.

    Many thanks,
It was quite shocking and upsetting to me to find out that this Janne person who I've never even heard of is using our site to get prepaid monies that have absolutely nothing to do with us. And that Tommi guy, I know vaguely and have read about other bad deals he's pulled on casinos/affiliate programs to get prepaid monies, and he definitely has nothing to do with our site or us.

The only way to prevent this kind of thing from happening is for the people who's sending the money, the buyers, to do their homework first. In my case, all they would have had to do was search their affiliate databse for our website url and they would have seen it was mine and could have confirmed this deal with me before sending money. I would have then been able to tell them it's a scam. Or maybe before these marketing people send prepaid monies, they should make sure the person their dealing with is emailing from the same domain they're buying advertising on, and maybe get a couple of references first.

I hate cheaters and bad apples on any side of this business (player, affiliate, affiliate program or the casino), because it only takes a few bad apples to ruin things for the good guys.

Buyers should always beware, and do their homework first!

I hope it was ok to post the full names that I did here. If not, will someone please edit anything that's inappropriate.

This is really shocking. I am thinking of bringing a warning on the homepage saying before paying anything one should ask for a confirmation from a certain e-mail account.

Do you guys think the person sending you these emails could be the scammer?

"We sent this guy money because he said he worked with your site"

Then you start feeling sorry for him, then he asks if you can reimburse him since it's your website they used..

Wait for it. I have a feeling it might be on its way.

    Hi all

Just a heads up that this guy is now posing as someone who works for our company trying to sell data.

If they approach you, please contact me immediately and do NOT fall for it.

    Cheers

Looks like I fell for this scam. I'm still trying to get the money back today.
