I don't know how to write this so everyone bear with me.....

Over the last few hours I heard from Gary, Pat's husband.

Pat did make it to the hospital, but after arriving she took a turn for the worse.

Her breathing did not improve and eventually the brain activity ceased.

She is currently on life support, the machines are doing the breathing for her.

They are currently waiting for one child to arrive from out of town.

They plan on removing her from life support sometime this evening.

At this point I ask everyone that is so inclined to pray that she passes quietly and without pain and do not forget to ask for comfort for her husband Gary and their children and close family and friends.

During my conversations with Gary, he wanted me to make sure everyone knew how much she just truly loved and adored everyone at the forums.

In fact through the tears we shared, we both agreed that besides her family and pets, I don't think there was a single thing that gave her more joy than what she got from interacting and talking with her friends here at the forums.

Obviously I respectfully ask that you do not place calls to her home since the family certainly has quite a bit to deal with at this point. I will post a new thread in the next couple of days to update everyone and let them know any details of arrangements once I know them.

For the time being I ask that this not be posted in any public accessible forums for at least one to two days as this time should be spent for the family. (she considered everyone here as part of her family)

This is truly a sad read above. Pat was such a dear friend of mine for many years now, both on and off the forums. We chatted many a time on our chat client softwares over the years and I'm sure many here just adored her.

She was a truly beautiful person...

I don't have words for what I feel. My sincere condolences to Pat and her family and her friends.

I'd been in touch with Rick over the past day because I had wanted to give Pat a call and let her know she was missed and wish her well. I never imagined where the exchanges I had with Rick would end.... A very sad day.

OMG...I'm absolutely dumbfounded and so very sad to hear this news. Pat's been such an example of kindness and her good nature and sense of humor has been truly one-of-a-kind. She'll be so very missed.

I wish her peace and her family and friends the strength to get through such a difficult and painful time.

OMG I just burst into tears! I feel so terrible. Pat and I were on pm'ing each other the other day about something about writing some content, and I could sense something was wrong. We talked it out for a bit and in the end shared that we loved each other - but ticked each other off. It was all fine! I sure am glad I was able to express how I felt. Pat was so very special - its so difficult to understand this. I feel like I have lost an important person.

Pat and I shared much love for animals especially cats! And I will never forget her!

Like Steve I just cried my eyes out when I read the News.On October 10 about 8:30pm Pat sent me a message here and rather than email her back I phoned her .We had such a nice conversation and of course we laughed ,she was just as silly on the phone as she was in this forum.she seemed so upbeat and happy ,grateful too for getting a second chance.We didnt talk much on the phone maybe once every 2-3 months but they always ended up being 2 hour phone calls and I will regret never having the chance to meet her in person.

It is a pleasure to meet you. We have talked about you many times as my son was in the Air Force as well.

She was so damned proud of you! She expressed that she was proud of my son too. We went through the 'Mom' worrying together and she kept me updated on where you were, (without giving any details). She inquired frequently on my son.

We were military moms together online. That's one of the million things that made her so special.

We loved her so very much.

I am at a loss of words, she was the sweetest, most caring person, full of good energy. She was always the first to post and check on me since my diagnosis of breast cancer. I will miss her tremendously. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends and of course the gpwa family, it's a very sad time for all of us. RIP Pat, you will always be remembered and loved.

What could I possibly say that has not been said. What thoughts of grief could I possibly convey that are not already shared by everyone here. It baffles me how we all go about our daily lives, so consumed with family and business and the day-to-day routine, and then suddenly... it's over. Just like that.

I can't believe that we've lost another member of our online family, and I feel as if I've been sucker punched in the gut. Life is rarely fair. So, we have to say goodbye, Pat... and God bless your sweet soul for the happiness you freely gave away. Your absence leaves a gaping whole where so many hearts used to find joy.
