Google paranoia is rife but probably fair - they are utter &/($&·/$· when it comes to any affiliate industry. However, that doesn't stop me getting free stats!
Regarding out-bound clicks, why not pass them through an interim page and log the click yourself? Or do what some others do, and use Urchin Tracker code on out-bound links.

Deep Log Analyzer
I love deep log analyzer it's right on your desk top and it works the same as ftp It tracks everything and it's free at downloads.com. Their is a paid version but the free version is excellent!

I'm a fan of Google Analytics and don't buy into any conspiracy theories as far as sharing data with them. They don't like the affiliate industry much since the industry has tons of examples of webmasters not respecting them. It's not so much that they don't like affiliates, they just have a mission to provide the most relevant information to users when they search. If your site is highly relevant for a search and has tons of backlinks, Google will like you too.
