    Default Wedded bliss or not?

Yesterday in a thread Micheal mentioned that his 20th wedding anniversary was during the Israel conference. Congratulations to you both!

Now this got me thinking, 20 years is a long time.

I have actually passed that milestone, however, clocking up over 27 years of marriage.

My question is how does the gambling business effect marriage etc? I mean all these conference parties and all the spare dollars to throw about on having a good time!

Does this effect our fidelity in this industry?

Are Micheal and I the only ones with a long marriage or are there people with even longer service!

Just a silly poll but, who ever happens to have the longest marriage at the end of the poll will be awarded a little prize.

I will buy you one line on the UK national lottery and post the numbers here. Only catch is, you have to take a second honeymoon with the winnings should you be lucky enough to win.

    What fun Chalkie!

Congrats Michael! If you are going to be away for it, then you will have some serious making up to do!

I didn't vote, we're engaged so I don't fit there. We both are affiliates so no effect here except that we talk biz too much.

I look forward to the responses here.

Can I add up my 2? We are in our 9th year. But as we are both mature, we have our own things, I live on the computer, she watches the tv. At least we are in the same room. No worries re, fidelity, I value our relationship too much to ever jeopardize it.

Not many wives would put up with my endless hours online not to mention all the medical issues I have faced in the past 2 years. I got me keeper!

My second was just last week so I'm not going to win any prizes. I was an affiliate when we met so she knows what to expect.

She'll ignore what I do until I can't pay the bills, then the questions will start!!!

I ticked the over 5 years option which is a bit of a cheat - our 5th wedding anniversary is next week, but we have been together for 10 years (same date!).

Can't really comment on the effect of being an affiliate on marriage as I am just starting to enter the business, but my wife seems fine with the career move so far even if I am not earning much money yet!

The only draw back is that he does a lot of things alone, like watching tv, playing PS3, shopping and errands while I'm at the PC or laptop working.

I can't really see myself being with anyone else as I've known him for 12 years to date and he passed the Steve Harvey test of how to tell if a man loves you so I can see a lifetime with him.

WTG and Congrats to Doolally, Michael and Paul!

Oh, no, we're definitely not going to be apart during our anniversary. If my mindset was to stay in Israel a couple days after a conference ended and not be together on our anniversary then I seriously doubt we'd be celebrating our 20 wedding anniversary in a few more weeks.

The post Chalkie referenced is here: www.gpwa.org/forum/join-gpwa-affilicon-israel-june-180475.html.

    In the thread I said:

Personally, I'm looking forward to attending the conference in Israel. My wife, Sylvia, and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding aniversary a couple days after the conference ends, and we're very pleased and excited to have a good excuse to spend it in Israel.

Well we have been married for 18 years this past April 12th. I have known him for over 31 years, met him when i was 16 years old at my first job, and he was the "bad boy" my parents hated! lolll

anyway he went in the service [army] and i went on with my life, and got pregnant by an idiot, had two children, left him, and became a "single mom" [ never married the dad, good thing] and was raising my children myself, no help from family or anyone, worked two jobs and took the kids with me, [ driving job, worked as an flag car for oversize load trucks] we traveled all over the usa, but it was hard, and then he came back from the service, found me, took in my children as h is own, and married me, and saved us from the rough life we were living.

I couldn't ask for a better father or husband, so i guess i owe him my life, and my childrens, and that speaks of what kind of man he is. priceless.

I have been married for 23 years. I met my hubby when I was 15 and we got married when I was 17.
I can also honestly say that we are still madly in love with each other and each day the marriage gets stronger.
We have managed to overcome many ups and downs together and have always remained best friends, which I believe is the key.
We both work together in this industry and literally sit next to each other with only a spare computer in between us.
Many people wonder how we manage to be together 24 hours a day, without having any time apart.
Simply because throughout our marriage we have always done everything together just like most best friends, so to us it is perfectly normal to work together too.
On the odd occasion if we need some time out - I just go off to the hairdresser or meet a friend for coffee, lunch what have you.
One of the many good things about a long marriage is that you get to the stage that you can't be bothered to waste time or energy having an argument over a trivial issue, so we have learnt to speak up immediately and NEVER go to sleep until we have made up.
The sad thing is that in my daughters class at school which has about 25 pupils - we are the only couple that are still married....she says she counts herself very lucky.

You must be kidding with your terms there Chalkie, requiring them to have a second honeymoon. What if your winner would be 50 years married?

Still single, so I can't really tell how my link to gambling could affect my future married life.

7 years married in August, I know, I dont look that old

My wife has been pretty understanding with my 'business trips' and has been very supportive as we have a young child and now one on the way, due in June.

She actually stayed with me at the London event, CAP Euro as she has family in London, here she found out that I tend to booze...a lot!

She was also lucky enough to come to Cancun for Spring Break so she really knows why, when I come back from a conference I am pretty tired.

She doesnt have a problem with me getting pictures with models, naked chicks and EricEricEric as she finds it bizarre that girls actually walk around, topless and painted gold. I obviously dont mind a bit.

However I cant make AAC this year as we have no cover for our little one. I dont want to be daddy daycare so had to make a choice. I am playing dad.
