What is it with Bingo in the USA

I must bring this up . Whilst i am relatively succesful in the UK with bingo , i just do not seem to be able to convert in the US despite tons of traffic.

I get a load of impressions , clicks and downloads , but never get any reg and conversion. I am a little puzzled . I am promoting Cyber and Bingo Fest and the Rev Giant properties , am i missing something here ? , is bingo not as popular in the states as it is in the UK.

Any pointers would be appreciated

Well in my opinion, Bingo in the US is related to old people and most of old people don't use internet. That is my opinion.

The ONLY two programs i ever made/make money with in USA is Revenue Giants and Vistagamingaffiliates.Vista does much better IMO.

I dont agree with what you are saying here , a lot of people thought this about the UK as well and it is a thriving industry.

Thanks CBG - seems i am not hitting the right notes yet with either Vista or Rev Giants but i will keep trying and see what happens.

I read somewhere that online bingo in the UK generates more revenue than online poker. I don't think this is the case outside the UK though. Certainly not in the US.

It probably has something to do with the UIGEA, that's why the UK is converting much better.

Well is just an opinion, bingo is not that famous like casinos and sportbooks.

Like some said, Bingo isn't as popular online in the US than Europe. I've done well with Gala in the UK market.

There are loads of factors behind bingo not being as popular in the USA. In the UK you can't turn on the TV without seeing the ads and seen as how it's fully regulated and people recognize and trust the large sites such as foxy, Bet365 and so on, they have no qualms with signing up and playing.

I'm guessing that people in the USA don't have this mindset.

Bingo is making a comeback in the U.S. In fact, the for the first time in 4 years, there will be a bingo room in a Las Vegas Strip casino (Mirage). I suspect payment processing issues are the biggest obstacles. Bingo players in the U.S. are not going to jump through hoops to fund their accounts.

I think it could be two reasons behind the lack of success of your site with Americans.

1) Like others have said, it is difficult for Americans to deposit and withdraw after the UIGEA. And perhaps that women (most bingo players are women) are still more hesitant than men to attempt to bypass the UIGEA.


2)American bingo is based on a 24-number card, plus a free square, (five rows of five numbers), and 75 balls. European Bingo is often based on a 27-number card and no free square (three rows of nine numbers) and 90 balls. Maybe you promote European Bingo Sites and Americans prefer Americans Bingo style of playing? Obviously it is only an assumption on my part.

Used to be our MAJOR ($$$,$$$) income stream until UIGEA.

Problems are a) UIGEA b) no overt marketing (TV/radio) c) all the major brands and software suppliers left years ago so no marketing budgets and old software d) whilst young poker dudes will jump through hoops to get a payment through old grannies wont e) no marketing = drop in awareness = drop in google searches = reduced traffic f) free bingo on Facebook (see Bingo Blitz et al)

I'd leave it and try something that makes easier money.
