Do you mean difference between search engines (eg: #1 Google v #1 Yahoo) or position (eg: #1 google v #2 google v #3 google)?

The former depends on your country as market share is different. I think there's quite a bit of data on the latter though, can see if I can dig it up if that's what you meant?

There have been a few studies on it, this is quite informative: https://moz.com/blog/google-organic-...-rates-in-2014

    Also see: http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/stu...traffic-study#

All the numbers in these studies seem fairly similar.

The top spots I have at yahoo and bing get minimal clicks, for just one lucrative keyword i have Google gives me 40-50 high converting visitors daily and bing about 1 daily.. yahoo 1 every week lol.., when it comes to my general pages google sends thousands whilst the other 2 sends dozens.. I always see stats on how bing owns x % of the market but the figures don't relate to this on my site

Reltaed to this, does anyone have any nice data on how much short-tail VS long-tail traffic is being driven to their sites? Not sure if this data varies alot on a case by case, but would be nice to see! I think a lot of people new to affiliation gets a nice positive kick when they realise that long-tail keywords are bringing traffic to, when they were only focusing on ranking on a single word.

Yea but it doesnt compare the two as to say: "im an affiliate, and my website that ranks pos 2 in "BLA BLA" gives me 70% of all my SEO traffic, and the rest comes from "BLA BLA BLE" and "BLE BLA BLA" if you get what I mean

    It depends from the industry.

Like "Casino brand" is going to be harder to rank in top5, rather than "casino brand review" for example. But you are going to get 100 more traffic with short-tail if you rank high in it.
