Default What does affiliate look for in a new program

    Hi all,

In the midst of building a affiliate program and want to make it as user friendly as possible for you affiliates that will be using the tool.

What I am wondering is what do you look for when choosing a program to work with? What feature is a must have, and what is a luxury but you could live without.

Throwing in a few suggestion, and you are more then welcome to add more, also if you could weight the importance of each it would be brilliant and help us to launch a brilliant program.

    Product
    Reporting tool
    Update frequency (stats)
    Ease of usability
    Product/Promotion Updates
Number of products (casino, poker, bingo etc)
    Number of brands being pushed
Marketing offerings (new banners, xml features)

    Soft values

    Certified (GPWA/CAP etc)
    Well know affiliate team
    Presence at conferences

Leaving out high revshare since I know you all want as much money as you can for your hard work.

If their is a thread in here regarding this you can point me towards it, but couldn't find it searching the forum

    Let me here your thoughts
    Cheers
    Henrik

I think that thepokerkeep pretty much said it all. I would definitely agree to private Canadian bounties.

One of the most important for me is real time stats. With as much info as possible. This helps us market better.

Another one is affiliate manager honesty!!Setting aside the website T&C's as we know sometimes certain programs don't follow them to the dot! When an AM promises something abide by it. Am's represent the company and gain our trust. They need to follow up on deals made.

Frequent contact with AM's to discuss ideas always works too.

Aside from what was already mentioned...

Solid history... Not changing T&Cs to the disadvantage of affiliates retroactively (e.g. a player for life is a player for life....)

Ability to pay US affiliates by check or wire with reasonable minimum or reasonable fee

Plans to be in the US market for the forseeable future

    Communicates well

Has some creativity (not all promos just like every other promo with a different skin)

    Great guys,

I appreciate you are taking your time in answering.

Regarding a few of your thoughts like affiliate manager honesty, it is usually quite hard
if you start up a new team, but I reckon a few of the affiliates that have worked with me will vouch for me...hopefully and that the team will gain your trust by their actions.

The program that will go live will not accept US players, but do accept US affiliates driving European, Canadian and South American players.

Regarding the T&C I am confident that it will be scrutinized by you seasoned veterans and highlight any unclear terms.

    Cheers
    Henrik

Yeah the most important thing would be to follow up on your deals. There seems to be some programs here that refuse to pay the affiliates for various reasons, just have a look and you will see these trends!

Hopefully the T and C's will be clear and not allow for this type of behavour.

    Cheers mate!
