Such as this: ?_page=17. I'm getting more and more of these in the search console under canonical pages. I suspect Yoast is generating this.

If it is from yoast sounds like something in perma links is wrong.
What "may or may not" fix it but can't hurt, change the settings to something else and save it then change it back and save again. If yoast happens to warn you need the optimization done due to changes, run through that again.
Have you recently added any other new plugin?

Thanks Rick,
I mean, Yoast redirects to the canonical URL. You can add this kind of parameter to any random URL, and it will come up in the browser. So, I don't know if Yoast is responsible or not. I know Content Views generates this variable if you enable pagination. But those pages/posts don't have Content Views on them, nor does GEO targeting. I don't add any plugins for years.
Do you have content views loaded?

I am curious what caused it but resetting the indexables will probably help.

The yoast test helper plugin will likely help get you past this.

The tables these are in is
wp_yoast_indexable and maybe also references in wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy

I did have something similar (though not exactly the same) some time back and it turned out a tool I tried inserted the /? on internal links.....that's how the 'pages' were getting indexed. I never found out why exactly or how it happened...but the solution for me was to go through pages, find those internal links, and remove the erroneous / characters. Don't think those crap/false pages were hurting me at any point.
PS you might have some other weird stuff going on....example....https: //casinoroam.com/emu-casino-review/#more-28478 looks like a jump link but doesn't seem to have any point (maybe there is one but it's doing something I can't see/understand)
PPS This might be relevant, too.....https://wordpress.org/support/topic/...nd-of-the-url/

Is the problem you are talking about really cosmetic and maybe annoying, or does it also have a real impact on the quality/positioning of the site?
I personally have something similar, a few days ago in the GSC section "Sites scanned but not yet indexed" Several url's of graphics from my site e.g. site/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/picture.webp appeared.
The site map does not show these addresses.

Not on those pages that I have concerns about. It has on some other pages, and those have the parameters starting at ?_page=1
Thank you, Rick,
I did with those recommendations but have to wait to will see if they worked.
There are even stranger URLs in the search console under the 404 tab, such as this one: xhttps://casinoroam.com/zh/%E5%A4%96%E8%B4%B8%E7%BD%91%E7%AB%99%E5%BB%BA%E8%A E%BEti9oP-%E5%90%9B%E6%80%92%E6%81%8B%E5%A4%9C%E7%A7%80%E5%9 C%BA-%E2%8F%A9%E7%BD%91%E5%9D%80av92.tv%E2%8F%AA-%E6%98%9F%E8%BF%9B%E9%98%81%E6%98%AF%E4%BB%80%E4%B 9%88%E5%B9%B3%E5%8F%B0UKnsJr-%E5%93%AA%E4%B8%AAAPP%E7%9C%8B%E8%83%96%E7%86%8A%E 7%9B%B4%E6%92%AD-%E2%98%80%EF%B8%8F%E2%96%9B%E7%BD%91%E7%AB%99av92. tv%E2%96%9F%E2%98%80%EF%B8%8F-%E6%8B%9B%E7%8E%8B%E8%80%85%E8%8D%A3%E8%80%80%E5%A 5%B3%E4%B8%BB%E6%92%ADaVwHsf-%E9%AC%BC%E5%B0%8F%E8%AF%B4%E5%A4%A7%E5%85%A8
and in Bing Webmaster tools, lots of these variations: xhttp://casinoroam.com/2015.tar.gz
I guess Im facing with two or three separate issues
Thank you, Chaumi,
Where did you find this link? xhttps: //casinoroam.com/emu-casino-review/#more-28478
Actually, I've tried a few plugins in the past, but I don't remember what those were. However, I only installed plugins from the repository.

I just remember.
I haven't seen the cookie notice bar appear for a while. Is it comes up for you?
Please, help!
No I don't see the cookie notice

I noticed that you have a multilingual site. What plugin are you using? I used to test many plugins of this type and Translate Press caused (not identical) problems with strange URLs.
It could be loads of things. Basically google has seen a link to a page with that parameter, that could be an internal link or it could be an external one.
Why do you get external ones?.... because there are loads of badly written bots and scrapers out there. Or people doing it intentionally, but that's probably less likely.
(I say unlikely, but there are ways to theoretically attack sites using this method... we had a site that was either intentionally targeted by quite a clever attack or the subject of a very badly set up bot, I'm still not quite sure. Either way, it almost knocked the server offline until I noticed what was going on and put a stop to it).
For example, if I were to create a link right now to httpx://yoursite.com/heres-a-404-for-you/ then you'll probably see that in the search console at some point as a 404.
Or I could do it with variables and make a link to httpz://yoursite.com/desert-nights-casino-review/?p=heres-one-for-the-canonical-list
You do probably want to check it's not a problem with something internal, but if it's an external annoyance and the links don't appear on your site then there's not a huge amount you can do about it.

I'm using Polylang. However, since the last WP update, and the plugin update that probably happened around the same time, it has generated some strange links. When I create a new category under a parent category or move a category to another parent category, it inserts -en to the slug.
