Just about five years ago I put up the following poll:

How many pets do you have?

It proved to be a very popular poll, with over 70 votes having been cast. So, for the fifth year anniversary, I decided it made sense to run another pet poll. This time the poll is about what types of pets you have, and since a lot of folks have more than one pet, this poll allows multiple responses - one for each type of pet you own. The list comes from looking through the types of pets mentioned in the previous poll about the number of pets folks owned, plus additional types of pets folks I know have had.

Besides voting for the types of pets you currently have, be sure to share in a post other types of pets you have had in the past, what you think about different types of pets. And, as frequently happened in the original pet poll, pictures and stories about your pets.

We have 7 goldfish, 2 budgies and 1 four month old Shih Tzu puppy who follows me from room to room

I'd like to get a cat next, and my daughter really wants a hamster

Cat's 5 of them, I used to feed the stray's and feral's and took some as kittens in, "Now big Cats" .. Here is what happens when you leave the medicine draw open, .. the bag of catnip was easily found

I have one miniature Yorkshire Terrier, which is pretty annoying, but loving pet at the same time.

I've a tank full of tropical fish and 5 chickens. I also have one poor quail that's sad and pining for his friends that passed away earlier in the year.

I still don't have any pets but my sister has the best dog ever. His name is Bentley and he is a bichon cross toy poodle. Never seen a dog with a personality like his. The best is when they take him to get groomed and they put him on some backdrop and put a bowtie on him.

When he jumps he throws his arms backwards. It's hilarious. I never stop laughing when I'm around him.

This blue staffy. Being female she can be extremely needy lol but it's the most loyal dog you'll ever meet.

I have always had a cat, but you must get them as a kitten to fully appreciate them

I have 2 hamsters: big girl with grey fur and a little boy with golden fur. They are so funny and cute, if anyone is interested in funny images - just ask me and I'll post some photos here

Chikens, really? Do you keep chikens at home? Is it okay? I wonder, what it looks like, will you give us a photo, please?)

The wife ! - and an Italian Greyhound (daughters wish). Sometimes a few spiders get in, but i guess they don't count!

I know there is an affiliate that has a Jaguar (not the car) amonst other animals!

He is really cute and he looks like a teddy bear in person too. I will be visiting my family on Sunday so I will try to get some more pics of him.

I am a cat person too and agree with you. I think people who hate cats have only seen other people's cats so don't know what they are like when they are your own.

I'd like to see this too. Are they regular chickens or the funny looking chinese chickens?
