Question What are your Google Analytics 4 migration plans?

Last month Google sent an email notice to Universal Analytics (UA) users reminding them that Universal Analytics will stop processing data on July 1st and encouraging them to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Google made this announcement on March 16th last yesa, and at the time we ran the following poll: When did or will you migrate from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4?

But the email from Google went beyond reminding folks of the upcoming deadline, and announced that in March Google would begin automatically creating Google Analytics 4 properties for those who had not already created them. Today Search Engine Land published an article titled: GA4 ‘auto-migration’: Here’s why you should opt out .

For this week's poll I ask if you have already migrated to GA4 and if, if you have not, whether you are opting out of "auto-migration" and doing it yourself or not.

In addition to voting in the poll, please share your thoughts about the migration, and especially any personal experiences that might be helpful to others.

I actually removed it a while back. I will wait for the changeover and see if there have made things different as i only really need the basics but I will most likely switch to a 3rd party something simpler than having two javascripts and tons of modification just so i can see who clicked an affiliate link, they have over complicated it for regualr site. though great for ecommerce.

Every time they change GA they make it worse. It's so slow now and you have to wade through a bunch of junk just to get to the most basic info.

I wish there was a slimmed down version that was more like how it was 10 years ago. Fast and simple to show you what visitors you've had and where they came from. That's all we want really.

I already migrated. I figured I would get a jump start in case it becomes a ranking factor (with google you never know).

I don't understand GA4, so I will use a 3rd party when I have time to find it.

I have not been able to make the transition because it is just too much trouble for me. I "know what needs to be done," but it just seems less urgent.

I will be deleting GA in some time. Actually as for traffic from Google, GSC is enough and as for general traffic there are better methods than GA. Especially for affiliate sites, what's different is sales etc.
    GA seems unnecessary.

Admittedly, as I wrote, I rather end up using GA and it seems that it is not needed by gambling aff.
And by the way, the new GA shows you different data than the old UA?
In my new one the data appears after 24 hours for the previous day. For the current one it doesn't. And overall the statistics are about 30% lower than in UA.

    Do you also have that?

We have already introduced this system because we want to collect as much data as possible as soon as possible.
Due to the fact that we are used to Universal Analytics, we do not know how to use GA4 yet.
