Whats the point?

After watching the news yesterday regarding the 5 British Soldiers murdered by an "Afghan Policeman" it really made me think about what I do and why I do it. I get stressed when my position drops in the rankings, how dare I when others wake up and have to trudge around 20 miles a day getting shot at, having to look out of mines and other devices.

Why should I get angry when the internet connection gets cuts off, when our lads and laddesses are having to use what ever the government can afford to send them.

Why should I feel upset when negotiations with an affiliate program are not going my way? We sit at home typing away on the pc trying to get more sign ups, more depositors and for what? A living? We can walk into our local stores for food without having to worry about the vehicle parked opposite. We can wait for a bus without worrying about bullets flying past our head!

I think I have probably been taken over by greed over the last few months, typing away, adding links, building my site. It may relate to others too, but I for one was hit hard by that news yesterday and it makes me think twice now when I get stressed waiting in a queue for a flight.

It does make you stop and think how easy we really have it.

I have to say though, i am not one for saying that our kids should not be there and given the chance i will be back in uniform and prepared to put my money where my mouth is!

There was 1 very strong point made yesterday by our defence minister that was lost in the overall statement.

We may be fighting this war on far away lands and suffering tragic losses, however, this is helping to stop problems of a similiar nature on our own doorstep.

This is a fight against terrorists, whom, left unchecked may just be in your town or village, and that car opposite may just have a bomb under it.

I am close to tears everytime another loss is announced and my blood boils, however, we are forced in many ways to be involved in this fight, as sad as it seems.

I cry everyday watching the news or reading a paper and seeing how violent and uncivilized this world has become. As you all know my son is in the Air Force and was in Iraq twice, and i am one of the lucky moms who can say she got here son back safe and sound, but so many others have not, all over the world. Our dear friend Mojo is waiting for her son to come back for that horrible war, and I pray everyday for him and her to be safe and strong, but there are so many more....

Rich I think this is one of the best post i have had the pleasure of reading and i wish the entire world could read it and maybe stop and think for a minute for a change instead of reacting to every little thing that goes on in ones life and maybe the leaders in this world, good and bad.....could make better decisions for mankind.

I was also very shocked of the breaking news on Sky yesterday about the awful event of an Afghan policeman opening fire and killing and injuring many more.

I left the ffice:smarttags" /><ST1:place w:st="on"><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com</st1:country-region>UK</ST1:place> a few years ago to open my eyes to what's happening in our world and eventually settled down in a far away country, which I was an Artillery Commander and also fought against terrorists.

I am now too old to be running around in the battle field today and I really do feel for all the Men & Women away from their homeland fighting for the freedom for all.

I hear cries of "Pull our troops out, but this would only be counter productive and I feel afterwards that the world would be a very dangerous place to live in".
