    Default Just starting

Hi! Im new to the gambling website business and want to know the best way to start out.

I bought drawpoker.com, bettingrules.com, vidopoker.com (mispell, but it gets typeins) and a few other gambling domains that havn't been developed yet and would like some info on how to get started.

Right now on drawpoker.com I just have a banner for Ruby Dragon Casino on a crappy PPC front end and in 2 month it has got me 5 free players and just 1 depositor. fortunatly, he deposited 950 dollars and lost it :0)

Seeing this has me hyped to develop gambling sites and I want to do it right. Where should I start?

    Hi Wicked,
I moved your post to it's own topic because it was a good post, and deserved it's own thread.

Where do you start? HA!! Jump in, Sink or Swim!

No, seriously, this is a good place to start. Make sure you read everything you can about the casinos, everywhere. Unfortunately, we can't let you into the private forums until you've had a gambling portal up for at least 3 months, but ask anything you want here. Our webmasters are always willing to help out!!

    Saw this in another thread:
"Casino Heat,Casino Extreme, and Ruby Dragon are all very nice casinos with not very nice or competent management, whose attitude towards portal webmasters is much less than desireable."

Who are some casinos with a good attitude towards portal webmasters? Am I likely to get paid from Ruby dragon?

My advise: the first thing is to properly research the online casinos that you will feature. Many of them will never pay you your commissions and just stiff you, so be careful. However, there are some great casinos that will be honest with you and will treat you good. Don't just look at the percentage that they pay out, look at the whole thing.

    Good Luck!!

If you cruised our sites, you saw a lot of the casinos we promote. One of the reasons we keep the member forums private here is so we can freely share this kind of info, without the casinos seeing it.

We have not had good experiences with the Casino Extreme/Heat/Ruby Dragon group, so you won't see them on many of our sites, if any. Some of us have Recommended/Not Recommended pages on our individual sites, but GPWA, the association, does not keep or publish a list of good or bad casinos.

Well looks like coming here first was a smart move. Thanks for the info. I'll check the sites you guys are promoting and build from there.

wicked & damian: As Cindy said, the GPWA doesn't keep a list of affiliate or good/bad casinos but many members have pages that do so simply click on their sig links or the WWW button and visit a few sites and you should get a good idea.

This forum is free open source software written in PHP (the best web coding language of all ) and can be downloaded from http://www.phpbb.com

It's very simple to set up but you'll need somewhere to host it that has PHP and mysql database. This can be got for about $10/month plus you'll need a domain that'll cost about $10/year.

You can get forums for free but they're always cluttered with ads, or even worse, popups - http://www.ezboard.com
