I was doing logo design on Elance 10 years ago at $150 a go and I used to get a lot of stick from the 'professionals' for lowballing.
These days the lowballers are charging $5 or $10...
I was a cheeky kid with Paintshop Pro, but at that time the web was full of 3D gold rotating logos, so my work was top quality in comparison
I agree with gaffg, it depends on what you need. If you want to create an enduring brand for on and offline promotion in the long run it is worth spending the money IMO.
If you're working on a small site that will never get huge traffic then there are some decent designers in India and Eastern Europe who will do a great job for $50. However, you will probably have to sort through a lot of crap to find a good one, so you have to factor in the extra time spent.
I notice these guys did the superbetting logo, I really like that one.
I used to do banners for superbetting 10 years ago and at that point their logo was just the word 'superbetting' in red in 'impact' font
Enough nostalgia - how I wish I had stuck with it back then, I bought 'betreview.com' in 2000 and I had big plans, but life got in the way...
CORRECTION: having checked, it was superbet.com, not superbetting. And their logo now is even worse than it was back then... Perhaps they need your help
