    Smile Sweden in the olympics

Anyone heard how it goes for Sweden this year???

I was watching some biathlon and cross-country last wknd and think we took some gold.

I think Sweden might be hard to beat in the Olympics this year...

    Bring it on

Very disappointing game but Canada during the last 5 minutes really showed their colors. Came down to the U.S goal tending which was a anomaly suburb.

Canada’s team will not rest easily and they face Russia tonight at 4:30 PM PST. Always a very tough team to beat should be a nail biter.

The US just won their game... if we can take Russia down tonight, we're on our way to a rematch only this time with Luongo in net. It will be an epic game should it happen!

Who watched the Canada - Russia game? We schooled them good eh?
Look out USA, here comes Canada! (that was my best Rod Black imitation) LOL - (inside joke that only Canadians will understand) I wonder how much longer Rod's voice will hold out?

It was a great night/day for Canadian athletes. 4 more medals! Tied for first with the US and Germany for Gold medals (7), and 4th place overall in the standings (15).

Our ladies tore up the Bobsleigh track taking Gold and Silver! What a crazy sport. There were a couple of scary wrecks, I hope the British girl is okay!

    Women's hockey tonight!!!!

Ya Anthony, I was feeling sorry for them too... NOT !!!!!

It was a great game... hard hitting, high scoring, tons of action... a preview of what we'll see if Canada and the US meet up in the gold medal game.

Now that the Olympics are over, looking back on the past 17 days, they were primarily very successful and highly entertaining.

Some of the highlights for me...

Bilodeau winning the first Gold for Canada in snowboarding. When he hugged his handicapped brother and credited him for his success... inspiring and touching!

Hamelin winning the gold in speed skating. His reaction and that of his girlfriend will remain in my memory for a long time.

Canada winning gold and silver in the 2 man bobsleigh - outstanding effort!

Canada winning silver in women's curling. It should have been gold but Sweden out played us in the final 2 ends...

Kevin Martin's team winning gold in men's curling. He played every game flawlessly and deserved the gold medal without a doubt.

Canada's women's hockey team winning the gold. Never in doubt but great to watch!

Virtue and Moir winning gold in ice dance.

Petra Majdic of Slovenia winning the bronze (the first ever Olympic medal for Slovenia) with a punctured lung and five broken ribs which she sustained in an accident during a training run when she slid off course and fell into a ravine.

Canada setting an Olympic record for most gold medals (14) by a nation.

The United States setting a record for most medals overall by a nation (37).

Last but not least, Canada's OT win against the US in men's hockey was for sure the most exciting event of the games!

    Well done Vancouver and Canada!!

I completely agree with you thepokerkeep! These Olympics were such a great event and will be something that Canada (& the world)will remember for a long time.

Stephen Brunt (columnist for the Globe and Mail) did such a great video essay which summed it and gave a touching look at the emotional response of the country.

    I'm already experiencing Olympics withdrawal!!

Even though I missed the last two days of it, I enjoyed the games as well and was very pleased to see team USA do well in so many of the winter events this year. They medal ed in sports that they've never done well in . Was very good to see the records broken too on medal count, and grats to the Canadian team on breaking one as well with the most golds.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics and too bad its over. It was during the closing ceremonies were the reserved Canadian Culture really screamed.

K.D. Lang sings Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. During the closing ceremonies of the Vancouver Olympics 2010 this song I never heard before was performed. The writer and singer are both Canadians the song floored me. I tried to find the original but is currently blocked. But I did find this one enjoy.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_Npx...eature=related

    Beautiful song!
