I think there are plenty of pop up plugins available. And why should it hurt your SEO?

It might not hurt SEO, but it will certainly annoy a few visitors, as popups usually do.

Popups are pretty annoying, no matter what about they are. Users will not like it, but anyone has a head on the shoulders to make decisions.

I hate popups on any site, the only thing that I would ever consider is a exit intent popup. That gives you one last chance to convert the visitor, I would use a cookie though with an expiry of at least 30 days, so it dosn't annoy them if they come back.

Just don't do popups on mobile, they are really annoying and they would drop your conversions (at least i hope so).

As mentioned above, exit popups could be a chance for you to get some engagement. I agree with the rest of the people here that are popups are annoying. However, in my experience, a good exit popup with a reasonable offer/ad could convert very well. Even though it does not, the user was about to leave anyway. So you have nothing to lose. I'd recommend you elementor pro plugin where you can build and adjust popups with different triggers both on desktop & mobile devices.

A website that displays pop-ups will give a strong impression to users. At least as a bad impression for me.
