Default YouTube Closing Down iGaming Channels

Specifically those channels which either stream online or record and upload their playing of slots. I caught up with Dunover Slots, a fairly popular channel that was booted just last Friday.

Default YouTube Closing Down iGaming Channels

That's really a shame and they're ruining our business in this way. We need our industry to move forward, not backward. Governments putting restrictions into place and such is just making it all the harder for us to keep igaming strong in the face of adversity. Nice website, Webzcas.

I have seen loads of videos on You Tube including Dazzas and always found them entertaining. The majority of streamers do bang on about how addictive slots can be and how to get help etc... But this was not enough to save them. Some streamers also stream on Twitch and I fully expect a crossover onto that platform for those that have lost their channel.

Red face Thank God for Twitch!

Well maybe Twitch is not the best video site available, but it will work. It has a slow response time, when surfing.

Google maintains Youtube, thus making it the fastest video site ever, 'cause speed is one of their goals.

It's all about having the capital to spend on the things that make a video site fast.

Google and Youtube's online dominance will not last forever. The decentralized web is coming. https://www.thetatoken.org/ is one such project that is set to disrupt the online video industry.

Youtube channels had many potential players. it is strong competitors for traditional websites. Setup and start youtube channel with slots - is 1-click action = many new competitors. Easy enter to market = many new competitors. This is big mistake to think that our market is unlimited. From my point of view youtube decision is good for us, the owners of traditional websites.

Yeah, this started happening a while back. We wrote about it on the 23rd of June. Lots of guys did move to Twitch, Vimeo, etc.

This really screwed some people over:

There's no Youtube & Google, it's just Google as they own it. I like the hating comments below with flawed logic "protect our children". The same mentality which makes people wanna ban video games, violent rap songs, alcohol in movies and so on.

"Protect me from everything bad, because I don't wanna use my pretty head for any rational decisions" - that's what this screams. When I was growing up smoking was a big deal. Everyone smoked. For some reason I never found interest in it and 'till this day have not tried it. Nobody had to protect me, my parents didn't even warn me.

Twitch I believe is worse than Youtube in terms of T&Cs. I can see the day Twitch starts booting gambling content too. Eventually the necessity will most likely create a platform for just gambling related video content, you know the reason Netteler and Skrill exist cause there were so many Paypal problems.

I laughed at the comment where "Tom" said you were sued by Affiliate Edge for bad mouthing them. You should screenshot it and put it in the wall of FAME

Ha Ha so did I. 'Tom' has commented in the past prior to AEdge staying my claim against them. He is actually related to the owners. I bet it stuck in their throat that my peers feel the same way about them as I do and subsequently came to my aid, covering all but 1k of the costs I got hit with, within 24 hours.

Affiliate Edge will never sue me as they know they will open up a Pandora's box with the information I have on them. Especially as by stating they removed over 1200 players in January 2017 from their affiliates is fact and I can prove it if they ever tried to take me to court, by once again stating this fact.

Do you stream or feature real play games? If so, I would be concerned, yes.

Depending on your content, I would go with Twitch.tv and start up live streaming. Maybe get some sponsors or something. I've been looking to sponsor Twitch poker players for ages but it's such a PITA to find competent guys. If you are good at producing content on YT, and you can manage to do it half as good live on Twitch, you'll probably do OK.

    A) no longer allow them
    B) do not like winning poker players
    C) charge insane fees

    Funny...

Some affiliates are not smart enought for this market....play stupid games win stupid prizes.
If someone upload xxx videos and spam casino links like xrumer, will earn a kick from this platform. - It is only a matter of time.
Yt tolerate gambling/ads,but not 20 links under every video...

This guy have still a small chance to get the channel back....its not to late...

Dunover has moved onto Twitch. He did appeal, but got a Boilerplate talk to the hand response.

Webzcas, more people need to stand up for what they believe in, like you. You’re someone who I definitely look up to and you also know how to give the right advice to other affiliates

Kind words, thank you. However, I am fallible just like everyone else, as recent history shows. The key is to learn from your mistakes and move on.

Stupid question: why should affiliates move from one 3rd party video platform like youtube that can wipe their bootom anytime with you to another 3rd party solution? Why not in-house streaming/video platform?

Is it just laziness of affiliates or lack of technical skill? Or is it about organic inflow of traffic to the biggest platforms?

Hit the nail on the head, 3rd parties have a ready-made audience where the streamer has do to very little to get traffic. I know a couple of streamers who have been affected by YouTube but have in the last few months started the own site/forums where the YT community get active. So these guys will retain a viewing/traffic of some sorts. How good they are at marketing to gain new viewers is another thing.

Some casino streamers on Twitch also have websites which show their videos.

Third Party sites are used to host video content because the infrastructure alone plus bandwidth needed would be prohibitive. Try and upload an mpeg video to your own site and see how much juice it uses.

It shouldn't be a problem if you use your server (VPS and not shared hosting) and you also use a CDN (such as Cloudflare, Akamai, Cloudfront...)

But you can't beat the network and organic traffic effect. Example: Sure, you can host your own images. Or you can upload them to Instagram and get some audience with the snowball effect. Sure, you can't upload nazi midget porn to Instagram but that's the price to pay.

I recommend to use a platform (Youtube, Vimeo, Twitch...) as the primary source and have your own solution as a backup.
