Let's stop all of this BS and personal stuff.
We all realize that some affiliates can NOT afford to go to conferences, or can not get the time off or maybe can't get someone to watch their animals or children if they did want to attend.
And we all know that some affiliates look down on others when they can not afford to attend conferences (a poor opinion in my opinion) and we also know that some affiliates can actually attend and choose not to.
Berating or belittling others for their own reasons for attending or not attending is not a good approach.
Additional posts that attempt to belittle anyone for their decision in either direction will cause all posts of such nature on both sides of the argument to be removed.

Anthony!!! You all better listen up, he's the man!
Anthony will you be attending CBG this year?
If I didn't post my thoughts because I thought someone would jump on me I'd never post anything here
Let's face it, I often say things people don't like. I'm sure there are lots of people here who have me on ignore for that reason or roll their eyes at every post I make. I think a lot of offense taken on forums and via email comes from the fact that not a lot of us have met each other in person, so it's really hard to get a feel for someone's personality that way. The same way people probably see some of us banter and don't get how we are laughing at what we are writing.
The longer I've been here I realise it's better to laugh than to let things make you upset. Take what you like from someone's post and leave the rest. A few years ago I had to take leave because a forum member made me so upset and stressed out. Looking back on it, it was silly really. I should have just brushed it off.
Dan is a big teddy bear in any case. There are a lot of people who probably feel the same about those conference factors that just never post them, and vice versa.
If you feel more comfortable answering my question via PM, go for it.

Yes, but as an advertiser you probably get a lot more out of being here than an affiliate (albeit a lot of advertisers gave up contributing here years ago due to the same reasons I won't anymore). I'm happy to raise debate, be disagreed with etc etc - that's why I come here - to have constructive debate, play the devil's advocate sometimes, learn things from people and improve my business.
But when it turns into someone abusing you, stalking you online and trying to gather information about you from your Facebook, LinkedIn and other sources, it's not on.
For this reason I am leaving the GPWA and will no longer contribute to this forum unless I really need to. I'm big enough and ugly enough to defend myself as many of you will know, but there's no point wasting 50% of your time doing so.
For me, discussing things here has become more of a waste of time than it is a productive use of time when most of the time you get some affiliate not being constructive and acting completely unprofessionally that you have to spend half of your time reporting their posts to admin and having them altered or deleted. In fact yesterday I received 4 messages from other affiliates telling me they had also had the same thing done to them by the same person.
So, the GPWA will lose a contributor who has the 19th and 21st ranked affiliate sites (out of 2586 affiliate sites) on here. It's not important to us at all, but i'm sure if that trend continued it would be more important to the GPWA than us.
If you'd like to throw out some ideas, chat about anything and exchange some good affiliate tips then add me on Skype (windrawwin). I talk to a lot of affiliates on a daily basis and I'm always happy to help, and even meet up for a few beers now and again in London with some people. Just tell me who you are on your friend request if it's not obvious.
Cheers, and good luck all.
Over and out!

The ones that the photographer omitted. Now the world would never know, that there were more than just 1-2 of them.
With regards to d**k measuring contests etc. It's pointless, I always keep in mind, no matter how well I THINK I've done, there is somebody else out there who is bigger/better/more successful than me.
Always keep your perspective guys and never disappear up your own arses - there is always someone who could come to the table and make you look like a total minnow, unless you're Bill Gates level, which I doubt anybody here is anywhere near. Once you reach a certain level of income that you are happy with, then what other people are doing becomes largely irrelevant.
