We'll be there too. No booth at this one, but we'll be wandering around doing meetings and having a casual beer.

Wonderpunter, I wore a suit and tie at my first event...in Las Vegas. One of my worst decisions in that heat. I walked in and saw most were dressed casually, some smart. So I turned around and changed into shorts and t-shirt. Much more comfortable.

My thing is, go in what you feel comfortable in. If the weather is good, short and t-shirt. If the weather is not so good, jeans and shirt. Trainers are a must as you'll be on your feet most of the day.

I hope to catch you there, even to just say hello.

Could it be a thing where GPWA put on the cocktails again prior to the main event, anyone remember the GPWA mini conferences/networking events?

Nope, but there is a tram that goes straight there from there or Dam Square. I was toying with the idea of staying around Dam Square for night time convenience anyway.

It is in the RAI congress center. The official hotel is at walking distance. But it is outside the city center, it takes about 30 minutes by tram to get to the central station/city center.

had a look last night and not sure I can be bothered with the hassle and costs, especially as I'll be on my tod. but saying that if some people i know are going and it wont be a work wankfest at night I might make the effort

Staying in the main hotel is great for location and to be around everyone after the after dark stuff but it can be a bitch to get back to from the town centre, which is a plus for staying more local to Dam Square.

We stayed in the Wyndham Apollo one year, which was nice too, a quieter hotel set on the canal with a nice deck out the back.

I should be a travel agent.

Even if you're travelling alone, you'll find people to hang with at night. I tend to hang around and find people I know and grab a few beers, most are quite happy for anyone to join them. I'll join you for a beer, I don't think we can work together but I'll buy you a beer.
